I have always wondered, if a major airline needed an A check or maintenance service or inspection done away from a maintenance base, who would do it?
Like if United Airlines needed a filter change on a 777 or 747 in Vietnam, who would do it? How about a Delta 737 at LGA?
I got a chance to go into the cockpit of a Southwest 737-700 and there was a number clicker on the yoke, does anyone know what it could be? The number clicker had space for 3 digits and was on the right side of the yoke.
I asked the person I was with what it could be and they said it might...
A few weeks ago I made an appointment for a medical with a doctor, and during the appointment she told me that I had to get supplemental medical papers before the medical exam could be completed.
After the appointment I learned that I couldn't get the requested papers before I moved to another...
I'm trying to get my class III medical, but due to a doctor's statements about a visit I had with him, the Senior AME said I would have no chance of getting my medical application through the FAA.
Basically, a few weeks ago my primary care doctor referred me to a specialist about a small...
I was going to start to put my package together and I was wondering if I could take the BAT first before I took the AFOQT or completed my PCSM. I heard that I won't be able to, as the BAT doesn't have a "score", it's just combined with your final PCSM. But I'm hoping to get my instrument in a...
Does anyone know what a Mutual Arbitration Agreement is and what it has in it? Does that mean that you agree not to go to courts if there is a contract dispute, but instead you agree to solve the problem between you and your employer?
And does anyone know how common this is in...
I applied online for a GA International FCC license because I was planning to fly to Canada, and I was surprised to see that it cost $100. I heard that it only cost $20 for a lifetime license. Did I fill out the application wrong or did they raise the price? Also, is the license good for life?
I'm going to be graduating from college soon and I'm interested in the ANG. I have a PPL, but I doubt I am very competitive for a flight spot at this point and I wouldn't mind just being a part of the team for a while and then applying for a flight spot later on. So I was wondering what the...
I'm planning a trip to Canada soon and I was wondering what type of radio license I will need to get.
I checked the FCC's website and couldn't figure out which one I need to get out of all of these:
Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Permit
Marine Radio Operator's Permit
General...
Has anybody ever completed this program?
Do you know what counts as "training hours"? Does it have to be training that is part of getting a rating (IFR), or can it be any training?
Don't know if anyone posted this before...
Sunday night Al Haynes and his daughter were on CNN and they talked about her bone marrow surgery. They talked about the crash of course and then how you could donate.
I was going to apply for a position at the FAA but I'm confused about what I need to send in for a federal application.
It asks you to state your knowlege skills and abilities (KSAs), but do they want it in an essay or just in your resume? Also, what other forms do you have to send in? They...
I plan to take someone up who has a pacemaker, but I heard from another pilot that the transponder might interfere with the pacemaker. Also, I have to have the transponder on due to Class B.
I can't find any info on this, has anybody done this before?
I was talking to a hiring manager at JetBlue and she said the $14/hour salary I received at Delta "was a lot". I received that salary in ground maintenace after my freshman year of college when I worked in ATL.
I really didn't think I was paid that much by Delta. This is also weird because...
What is your opinion of flying over any of the Great Lakes in a single engine plane. As far as I see there are no FARS that say you can't do it. Also, there are some islands in the lakes like Put In Bay in Lake Erie that can serve as emergency landing sites.
I'm not going to do this right...
I'm building a manned plane for a project, but I can't figure out how big the control surfaces have to be.
There will be ailerons, elevators, and a rudder but no flaps.
Does anybody know how big these have to be,as in length and width?
I look at a lot of aviation sites on the internet, and came across United's "Confidential" business plan on this website. It's dated January 31 of this year.

I have no idea how this got on the internet.
They did it just today.

I was wondering do all crewmebers have to be ex military? What planes have been called up before?
