Yeah, but you are hurting yourself if you Aren't logging the push. If you are acting as PIC or SIC (which u are if the doors are shut and the brakes are off) then you can log the time. Especially when you consider that most airlines don't separate push time. If one airline's pilot can log it...
Actually, I believe the definition is "beyond the capbility of the de-icing equipment of your aircraft." With anti-icing in an RJ, you would not accumulate ice except perhaps on the nose cone, winglets, and tail. The wings are 107 degrees C so there is no ice building on them. Ask for a new...
Actually, after using them for a week, they are easier to read and have the added benefit of having no updates. You just throw out the whole book and replace it with a new one. They are also easier to read at night in dim light. I learned to fly on Jepp, went to NOS at my first company, and...
Again, reference the European model of flight training and quote me some accidents that were the result of low time pilots flying transport category aircraft. The statistics just aren't there.
I don't see anyone bashing AWAC for hiring 400 hour pilots. Tell me this isn't simply a Mesa bash...
That's what a yaw damper is for, and why do you want to make them shoot an approach without the FD? To show off? Grow up and face reality. There are absolutely no statistics to prove that ab-initio flight training produces higher accident rates. British Airways, Lufthansa, and KLM come to...
Most of us at Airnet, which has an impeccable safety record in the Barons, 310's, Chieftains, and Caravans, were hired with less than 50 hours of multi. I myself had 15 hours. We're all still alive and doing well thank you very much. Good training and intelligence can keep you alive as long...
I didn't mention pay in my quote at all because pay has nothing to do with whether or not these guys can be safe in the aircraft. Sounds like you have an entirely new thread to start on that one.
Not to defend this sh!t hole operation, but losing an engine in a jet aircraft is virtually a non-event. Having 100 multi hours and getting hired to fly a CRJ isn't a big deal if you ask me. How about the guys getting hired to fly 135 checks in the middle of the night in overloaded Barons and...
You'd be a lot better off asking to speak to the captain. It's get you a lot further with the gate agents. It's pilot's running around talking to gate agents like they own the place that makes it harder for the rest of us who use common courtesy and politeness to get where we want to be.
I feel like I am treated like a professional. I'm not bitching about how I'm treated. I'm ashamed to be lumped in with the ignorant and grumpy pilots who make up the majority of this website, but the minority of the pilot groups overall.
The ignorance at all levels in this business is sickening. If you want to be treated like professionals then start acting and speaking like one. I'm ashamed to be associated with most of you.
I don't work there so I don't really care, but anyone who gets on here and bashes the current freedom pilots is making themselves look like ignorant b@stards because the current freedom pilots have nothing to do with the whole Freedom debacle from several years ago. Do your homework before you...
