So, I see the idiotic spin and vitriol is still spewing here. Inflammatory rhetoric cranked up to 11! Jesus, what a pathetic waste of time. I'm glad I only drop by here once in a great while.
I just have a question related to the latest East bid: How does Date of Hire look now? Seriously...
Haven't visited here for months or years, but it just amazes me that you guys spend your lives rehashing thoughts like these over and over and over and over. What the ALPA President can or cannot do? What? And dissing the union chops of an organization that started from scratch and has...
A punt?? That's what you got out of reading her order? No wonder Harper has such an easy time keeping you guys on the Accounts Receivable column. She even tells us in all that dictum that the east/west merge is never really going to happen as was envisioned by NIC back in olden times. But that's...
Inflammatory crap alert!
No one's unseating anyone, and that wasn't going to happen under any circumstances at any point in the history of this debacle.
Perhaps...just maybe....irresponsible rhetoric like this has hindered the two groups from moving forward.
Good luck with the turbo-growth in...
Hey MCDU, you should treat the General with respect. Look at how many posts he has: 16,188!!! That's important! And if he says ripe, then, well, that's rotten. And if he says the Nic follows, well then, check your six! And if he.....well, you get the idea. I mean, really, 16,188 posts....he must...
Yeah, I'd like a better contract, but the fantasy that you guys have that yours is soooo much better is just laughable. AWA was always a dirt bag operation and now we work for roughly the same dirt bag compensation. So, all things considered, I disagree. By not accepting the Nic, we are standing...
So my buddy at AA was asking me the other day "John, if we merge, do you know how I might find a way to lose 1200 numbers to a bunch of guys younger than me, so that it will permanently destroy my earning potential? I'm looking to really screw my third wife in this upcoming divorce!"
I said...
My American friends are really hoping it's the Nic, because they think it would be really cool to fly with some young Captains who are hip and like to party. I told them "dude, those young guys with Super Seniority will be in your way for the rest of your career!" But they all say "dude...." And...
C Festerpuss,
An eloquent recount of one side of the story, thanks. That was the McCoy's side, and the Hatfields have another whopper of a tale to tell. (While everyone is buying it for now, I'll betcha the McCoy's side looks pretty stupid and meaningless in a matter of weeks. Still, they...
Why, Bringthebird, I'm surprised at you! The reason, of course, is fair turnabout for the mighty effort you all put in trying to bring the East parity back in 2005....oh.....wait....that's not exactly how it went down.
Nevermind.....
Crzi,
It's not nice introducing reality into FlightMisInfo.com threads...you know how these guys like their own special flavor of the truth. West is best, and that's that around here. How else are they going to convince 3000 guys to sell themselves out?
That's typically correct, denny. And it would be a helluva lot more fair than the Nic, which disregards it completely for well over 1000 US Air pilots by placing them below a guy with a few months at the airline.
Oh yes there is, Flopgut, and here it is: The almighty union in this "fight" is ALPA, an entity in the business, primarily, of representing regional airline pilots. Behind the scenes at Papa ALPA there is no fight, and there won't be. Just like they want to allow an increase of flight time...
ALPA's response makes me sick. Here's a much stronger response, brought to you by a union who isn't trying to please everyone; it just represents pilots.

I'm really surprised the APA is condoning pat downs, even if done private. I say "no way." Unacceptable. You're either going to let my fly the plane or not, and truthfully, I don't care one way or the other. My employer might, but not me. In any case, it matters not what any of us have hiding on...
I guess so, Guppie. Sounds like brotherhood to me. Imagine, pilots looking out for other pilots, in this case the bottom half of the USAir list which has lacked any real representation for decades under ALPA. You will lose this fight, because we are united.
