He's more worried about the HR person, or pilot looking over the logbook. I'm more worried about the FAA and legal ramifications or potential problems. Ultimately I don't think it's that big a deal since I'm/we're not falsifying anything just restating it and all the required logging has been...
Ok all you brainiacs or legal minded pilots.
I have a former student who is preparing for an airline interview and is unhappy with the state of his old logbooks. He wants to recreate them and one option is to rewrite them and have me resign them. Or I could do an affidavit to certify all the...
If you are working the 7/7 schedule and your best friend plans a wedding which falls during your 7 days on, say in 2 months, is there any provision for switching schedules at all to get days off where you were originally scheduled to work?
Thanks for the insight guys. I am not into mediocrity, that's why I am asking questions. I just happen to love what I do more than the average regional captain I guess. It makes a huge difference when you live in base.
I'm sure I would like it at NJ too if I ever get there. Most of it...
You make a lot of valid points and a bunch of guys are glad to get out. I enjoy flying for my regional and I have it pretty good right now so that's why my decision would be much more difficult.
Here's a question I have a baby due late this summer. Suppose I apply and suppose I interview and...
Is that pretty typical for most of the NJ pilots? I would miss the flight benefits if I left my current job. With a family of 5 I would only get one trip a year.
Thanks guys. That's about what I figured. I've flown corporate before for almost 4 years; emptied the lav, gotten catering, cleaned the plane etc. I actually miss most (not all) of that job, interacting with the pax, loading bags, catering and all that. It's frustrating to sit in the a/c...
Thanks to all the NJA guys who take the time to post for inquiring minds.
Besides the money and logging the time, what's the difference between CA and FO at NetJets? (for all you smart asses I'm not talking about decision making etc) This may sound like a strange question but basically what I...
I had the privilege of being a roommate of Ben's in college. He is a shining example of the effect of Christ in a person's life. He had a zeal for life and a love for his family and others that has been already spoken of. Words cannot completely describe the impact Ben has had on those of us...
Number 2 is more correct. If you look at your a/c systems book (for most a/c) you will note that the alternators charge at 28v and you have a 24v battery. This is to prevent them from competing and possibly draining your battery. You are correct that the battery is for starting and once the...
I use my DC 13.4s. As previously stated, you need to provide your own. Alot of guys use the 750s and keep doing it so I guess they aren't that bad. I found the noise to be a bit loud with them. I like some passive NR. I haven't tried the earplugs with them though. They don't take up much...
Take the worst of what's said with the best of what's said and the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. If I lived in DEN/LAX and I had to commute to PHL with the current schedules I would be depressed too. I commuted to work at AWAC for the first 2+ years and now I live close enough to...
I just returned from ATW and the director of training among others told us the same info. Two classes a month for awhile (not sure how many per class), transition the rest of the 146 guys over, look at attrition, and continue hiring and running classes as needed. If you get in now you won't...
Purdue Pilot,
Any pilot that is authorized to ride in the actual cockpit jumpseat must have their information validated at the time of check for the flight they wish to jumpseat on. Most airlines have some form of computer system which can verify employment etc. for anyone in that system...
UtahPilot,
Your logic may work in your own mind but it looks like in your original post you are taking orders before you even order the stuff. No matter how you slice it, ethically it is wrong. "you know it, I know it, the American people know it." There really is no debate and I wouldn't...
I've been at AWAC three years. Looking at upgrade in the current realignment. I've been happy with AWAC overall. Can't say anything about the other airline. I might take the first one who gives you a class date unless you care about where you want to live then go with that one.
