So is this 14 including the CRJ-100/200s we were swapping out as the -900s were arriving or is this an additional 14 aircraft Comair is removing from the fleet?
I wonder how likely it will be that Comair becomes a regional affiliate for United now. Supposedly during bankrupsy Comair got the approval to solicit regional flying to airlines besides just Delta.
Why would they postpone this because so many people are leaving? The bid packets for January said to expect another vacancy bid late December. They could have just adjusted that bid as necessary. I guess we'll just have to see. I just don't have a good feeling about this. Maybe they're just...
I'm betting this has something to do with it. Why not take planes from the regional you own so as to not piss off one of your contracted regional affiliates. Besides, Comair does have some of the oldest RJs around.
No one has mentioned S5's ORD base. How senior is it? Are any new hires assigned ORD from the beginning? If not, how long before a new hire could hold this as a base?
I'm sorry, but how much more experience does a flight instructor with 1200TT flying a C172/PA44 have than a 300TT flight instructor? Or even a flight instructor with 3000 hours? Sure the higher time flight instructors might be better at demonstrating a Lazy 8 or steep turns. The problem is at...
Did you get those numbers off the Comair website or Airline Pilot Central? In my ground school class, there's maybe 1 or 2 people that actually meet those minimums.
Did you get the Feb 2002 from Airline Pilot Central? I'm not sure how up to date that number is. Last I heard, Comair has been upgrading 15 pilots a week.
JFK is supposed to be right sized by June-ish so more of the new hires can expect CVG. Instead of the recent 100% of new hires that have been going to JFK the last couple of months.
Comair is hiring like crazy right now...60/month. If you want to apply, go to their webpage and it will link you to airlineapps.com. No need to call HR, if you meet the minimums, you'll get an email in the next couple of days to set up an interview. I wouldn't be too worried about a possible...
The sims were simple. The instructor walked us through everything. It was mostly a chance to get our feet wet and see what the airplane is like. We didn't do a whole lot of flows, but we did learn how to use the autopilot and the FMS as well as do some approaches and learn how to land the...
I'd get your stuff in now. They're pretty quick about calling you right away after applying and then plan on interviewing about 2 weeks later. When it's all said and done, the soonest you would be able to start would be within a month of applying, so right now that would be almost the...
