Re: PSA (again)
Its hard to say right now. The most recent classes have been filled with people that used to work here. Things may start to look good for people that have times such as yours in the very near future. In the past PSA has made exceptions to the mins. I think it has something...
Swaayze,
I'm just gonna give you another point of view and tell me what you think for the sake of disccusion.
Your right the jumpseat is valuable, just like a paycheck. And in the coming months those paychecks will be coming down further with the help of Mesa's new contract. This has...
Listen guys,
If you want to work at a regional for the rest of your career then by all means form a separate union. But if your like most of us and have hopes of flying for a major then do what really needs to be done.
Change ALPA from the inside. Belive me there are enough people to do it...
Sparky,
Its been a while since I interviewed here, but from what I understand its still prettymuch the same. Goto www.aviationinterviews.com for the latest and don't sweat it. Just relax and be yourself. No canned answers and you'll be fine.
All three WO's should be coming out of BK with...
ChinaClipper,
You and I have'nt seen eye to eye on a few things in the past and its gotten nasty, I know. But I am sorry that this did'nt go in the direction that you and the other 179 would have wanted it.
I do wish you the best however and if your serious about getting out of it, try Real...
I've been stayin out of this as much as I can but I could'nt resist this one part.
In Dru's last paragraph he says this,"have everything moved over to Freedumb (non-union and cheap labor)".
Dru if I'm not mistaken did'nt Freedom have a "more lucrative" contract than Mesa. And if so, why...
bahjas and Bean,
I can see how you would think that its the same but it is very different. The WO's are part of a bankrupt company, a company that has not seen a profit in years. Mesa is not bankrupt and is indeed showing profit. If concessions were not "given" by the WO's, they would have...
bahjaus,
Would you care to expand on this statement?
**. If you vote yes then start complaining that it's Mesa pilots fault like the WO pilots are doing now, then you are contradicting yourself. **
Re: kind of early for this question.
WileE,
I'm not tryin to bust your chops or anything, but didn't your MEC ratify Jets4Jobs weeks ago "without" your pilot group voting on it? And according to other reports, furloughed US Airways employees should be in ground school as we speak.
I was just curious what airline flies between DAB and MLB? Both cities do poorly pax wise on their own. I can't imagine someone flying a CRJ between the two of them when its an hour drive on 95.
The way it is set up now is that the WO's will be merged and then stapled to the bottom of the MidAtlantic (whenever it starts) list, then will flow to ML when and if things get better. This part of the J4J agreement only applies to the WOs'. No affiliate carriers can take advantage of the flow.
Had the airlines gone to one-list years ago, this discussion would be moot,
I agree 100%
but to call it "lack of vision" euphamizes what amounts to a past and continuing refusal of the ML guys to permit jets at the WO's.
Actually there is No continuing refusal to permit jets at the WO...
I know your not trying to pick a fight, neither am I.
Just to name a few routes that were Mainline and now rest in the hands of the contract carriers.
PHL-BTV
PIT-ERI
LGA-DAY
Now I'm sure that we could go all night trying to one up eachother, but I don't have the energy to look up old...
I think you would be "hard pressed" to look at any flight that an RJ is on right now and tell me that it did'nt replace a mainline flight, aside from any areas where mainline never operated, and in which case the RJ replaced a WO.
Re: Haven't you guys herd......
LearLove,
You have the best sence of humor:D .
And to everyone on the hat subject. The hats need to go. They're OUTDATED, USELESS, and LOOK RETARDED! They serve no purpose except to make you look like a GEEK and give you HATHEAD. Oh wait they do hold...
Oh there's no surprise. The major airline pilots of yesteryear(sp?) lacked vision. But all you need to do is look at say BahamasAir for an example. Dash8's and 73's all under one roof and it works. Even AirJamaca operates TwinOtters and Airbuses under one list. The question is how do these...
I made a few statements, which would you say is not true?
And yes a few of those routes are a 328. I do not claim that the US AIRWAYS EXPRESS GROUP COMPANIES, ie PDT, ALG , and PSA are not flying segments that used to be mainline. But then again, there was usually a mainline jet and a WO on...
but US Airways chose to remove those routes from mainline. Why, because they could not operate them profitably
I'll give you that. US Airways has not so much a Major Airline network, but rather one of a Super Regional Airline with Some international flying. This comes from years of...
