I agree. If your an FO and the CA is napping you don't get to log PIC. If the flight is 12 hrs, then log 12 hrs as FO or CA. ICAO/FAR's require 2 type rated FO's and one type rated CA. FO and CA is what's on your paycheck and it's your job title.
I'm surprised Qatar Airways wasn't on the list. The only airlines I have not flown on that list is Air NZL and Virgin Australia (used to fly a lot of positioning flights as a freight dog). My top two were Etihad and Qatar with EK being 3rd. I actually thought Korean Air was really good and JAL...
You think you got screwed at your last union carrier just wait till someone buys you out at your non-union carrier...scope, merger protection, medical insurance, retirement, these are serious issues that need to negotiated, they will not be given by charity...
oh yeah, it's the UAW's fault GM continued to build Hummers, SUV's and Pick-ups (with sky high oil prices) instead of fuel efficient cars (while paying out huge bonuses and dividends) rather than investing in new technologies like Ford did. Yeah, those unions at Alaska, SWA, Delta, FedEx etc...
Saudi Arabia , Korea and India are a piece of cake...when you start getting used to to Karachi and Yangon control on HF. Worst I've heard recently is Curacao control...the papiamento accent is tough to decipher...
When I was flying freight, one of our FO's got busted in Brussels (by an EU official) for not wearing the vest on the walk around. At my current employer, we have the glow in the dark vest on every airplane, it's ICAO standard to wear it and many countries enforce this rule. Your "Sojushi" may...
Pilots survived...

Lemme guess, Transcon, Flaps 3, 2/3 Galley, Packs Off, TOGA T/O out of BUR with a tech stop in LAS? What a minute...something's wrong...is that a B6 flight taking off in broad daylight?
Depends on the company contract T&C's. After flying freight out of India, it changed my perspective. It's a fascinating country and you can live like
P-Diddy at the fraction of the cost of Dubai with the right contract. The
Spice Jet and Indigo expats seemed to be enjoying it. Lot's of money...
"Jetta" was due to going over the Mai Tai limit.
I never lived in the M/E, but I lived in Japan for 7 months. I've got a few friends at EK. They all like it "ok", but they would all take a class at SWA, UPS or FedEx at the first opportunity available.
I've flown freight all through the Middle East and here is my raking of livable cities for Westerners (with airlines that hire expats)
1. Dubai
2. Abu Dabi
3. Doha
4. Jetta
5. Riyadh
Of course, I would take any city in Asia over living in Dubai...
Do they still have a "termination department"? Heard some of the guys at QR often move on to other jobs after a few years. Doha was a bit too conservative for the average westerner, makes Dubai seem like Chico State on a Saturday night. Great airline to fly on as a pax though...
How is putting IASCO Flight Instructors on the street a blessing? You guys are complaining about the traffic at Napa? GA in the Bay Area is like a ghost town compared to what it was in the late 1990's. Also, JAL (and ANA) cut their training way back compared to the 1990's as well. It is a great...
The black pilots and female pilots from Delta that sat on my jumpseat were all ex-military and flew heavies. Drop the affirmative action excuse...doesn't work anymore....
