I had a southwest jumpseater who has decided to jump to Delta when they start hiring. He also said he is not alone in thinking that way.
Wait a minute! If SWA is such a great place to work why is this going on?
Is Delta so much better? He doesn't live in a DAL base..
Greetings everyone!
I want to buy a CJ6 or a Yak-52 and occasionally give aerobatics instruction to friend and family.
How much would insurance cost me  ?
Thanks a million!
I hope no airline will hire them. It has to fly with HR legally, though.. Otherwise they will sue and win potential earnings up to age 65. I hope jetblue [or any other] pilots on the interview team will fry them on technical stuff.
Scabs are truly sad to fly with. Ton of them at CAL.
You CAN get hired by Delta WITHOUT internal recs.
Two of my friends did.
At CAL it is all about who you know. Like in India or Mexico. And if you are a girl with no PIC and less than 1500 TT but sleeping with a sim instructor you get a preferencial interview no later than first week of...
At Delta at $54/hour in the first year one can actually make "starting $55.330". Maybe the author only talked to Delta pilots? They are a big chunk of the industry afterall.
Guys, seriously how could you compare Airtran to Delta? DAL always selected the best of the best. Can you say the same?
How many years of actual hiring are your "15 years to upgrade on DC9"?
2? Or 3? Or 5?
Wait until Delta matches your prices out of ATL and will see how long it'll take your FOs...
He was on my jumpseat also once. Summary of 3 hour conversation:
1. Pilots are stupid. Because they think that if an airline makes a profit for one quarter - it will make profit for a year and they will get profit sharing.
2. Fuel is hurting us and economy overall in tough shape i.e. dont ask...
As far as I am concerned Continental's PBS could be shoveled back into those Swedish teenage a...s that created it in the dads basement in the first place.
No wonder it was the lowest price on the market..
None of that matters you guys, lets be real! It is all about favors!!
It is Delta Air elite jet rides to politicians vs. pizza parties and free type ratings for the feds from SWA.
Will see who wins :)
Delta all the way. No compression with CAL. Delta contract, pilot group and future is much better in all aspects. Even if you live in one of CAL bases you will regret going here.
But it is much harder to get hired by Delta. Good luck!
Great airplane! Congrats!
Just don't fly it for less pay then mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And don't fly it more then 75 hours per month per pilot and under not crappier contract then ours!
Otherwise this career become even worse.
I second the General's post and I don't understand all this smear campaign. Don't you people have something better to do than lower yourself so much?
Skirts, toilet door signs .... my goodness!!
General wrote the truth and even said "I think" in the beginning of his post.
You guys need to...
That's why CAL is such an industry pioneer in canceling a bunch of flights prior to the weather,
so that we can "restart the system before everyone else and recover faster",
or whatever psychological propaganda they are covering it with these days.
What is the FAA requirement on glider tow training for a tow plane pilot, if any?
Also how complicated is it to equip a Cessna 206 for glider towing capability?
Thanks a lot.
