Friend of mine who is a West Furloghee said, they sent letters to all of the West furloughed pilots for E190 PHL for 11-15 Class. He is hoping there is no seat lock on 190, but if there is one he'll probably wait for the West.

Talked to PHX chief pilot last friday, told me that in addition to losing your seniortiy by going east, you will also be locked in PHL for 18-24 months. He said it wasn't an aircraft seatlock, used some other term. Has to do with flip flopping between lists. Basically if you switch lists you are basically a new employee is what I was told. A little birdie also told me they are planning west classes in jan/feb time frame.

I'm not sure about that. There are 3 lists. An East list, a West list, and a New Hire list.

If you were a US Airways new hire, you are on the third list. The company just assigned people to wherever the need was. I know for a fact guys that lived out West were assigned to the East side and vise versa.

Getting recalled to the East side should have no effect on your releative seniority. Pilots are the third list will be on the bottom of the new list when the seniority dispute is settled.

This will actually be a good deal for someone who wants to be out East and was assigned out West when they were first hired.

There is a 12 month training lock on the E190 and you still can bypass with no harm or foul. I really believe a recalled pilot will be able to get a group II after a year, possibly sooner.

New hires are just around the corner.

Finaly some good news. Good luck to all who want to return.

from what I can see in catcrew, someone I know that was in the last east class hired (meaning they were w/in 10 of the bottom east furloughs) is on option 63 in crewtrac for Dec2010 as an E190 FO. I have not talked to this person but I assume they are in the 10/25 recall class.

With this info I would guess they got to the bottom of the east list and are making their way back up for any bypassers or are going to offer west guys an east class or combination.

The most junior person in the 10/25 class is 17 numbers from the bottom of the east list. In other words, there are still 16 people who haven't been offered a class yet. We're waiting to hear about November.

Trog is correct. Something is not correct about what you saw/interpreted, Lear.

Just talked to a west buddy who confirmed that some west guys have received the in-range letter for the November 15 PHL 190 class.

I just confirmed with chief pilots office letters went out to all west pilots for PHL 190. They aren't expecting many to take it except for the third listers. 18 month lock in PHL is what I was told and they won't let the transfers out of it. Still trying to fill the 11/15 class and there maybe 1-2 spots for the class on monday(short notice). There are future classes planned maybe december and january is what they said. Take it for what its worth. All in all pretty good news!!

Well, that is yet more BS treatment for the pure West furloughees IMO. They have gotten the smelly end of the stick from the beginning. I can't believe they can't honor their longevity.

It doesn't really matter on the E-190 anyway. The humiliating pay rates on that don't increase from embarrassing to respectable at any year of service.

It is very good news for those that want to be based on the "right' coast, though.

West furloughs come back at same longevity to East or West. They just would be treated as new hires for seniority purposes. Until the Nic is implemented that is.

Still trying to fill the 11/15 class

From all indications I have, mostly based on the words from Crew Planning, they haven't even started on filling this class.

Not sure how crew planning would even know. Aren't you supposed to be in this class?

The person that either sends out the packet if you're in or calls you if you are not works in crew planning. It used to be Dory, but she left so now another person is in that place.

The west in-range letter indicates that there are "many spots available" in the November 15th class. My guess is that they know who from the east is taking the recall and now they're trying to fill the remaining slots.

What would be really funny is if some AWA pilot would take a recall out east on the 190 and then have to fly with a capt that was put under him the st nic award.

That is entirely likely, McTushy.

P.S. Your avatar makes it excruciatingly difficult to remain steadfast in my personal no tossing of salads rule. Nom Nom Nom!

Tweaker, you are great addition to the east pilot group.

Well, as sarcasm does not translate over the internetz, I'm gonna just say thanks and assume you are serious.

I all really want is to have a new contract. That is entirely impossible given teh three pilot groups at US Airways working under two CBA's. I stated to many USAPA officers that if I remain furloughed as a result of playing hardball in negotiations with a management group that is both dishonest and stonewalling, it will be worth it. 2+ years later on the street, 5 years of negotiations and there is no end in sight.

The negotiations will not progress with this infighting, as we have zero leverage. The pilots are more interested in beating on each other than standing up for a contract for all. This does nothing productive and has made US Airways (pilots) both a disgrace and a laughingstock. The management team has laughed all the way to the bank.

3 more years of Messa (SUCKS!) CRJ-900's - FAIL

Industry basement pay rates - FAIL

A contract with work rules shabbier than at my regional - FAIL

The court system has done the unheard of. It has caused rejoicing on all sides! Both East and West think they have won. This airline is bizarro world. This is the opposite of cutting the baby in half.

I know why US Airways is planning to attend job fairs. It will take substantial salesmanship to get someone to want to attach their cart to these horses. Perhaps an open bar would be beneficial.

At this point, a merger with American would be another nightmare. Nearly 2000 furloughees there. 5+ years to recall them all if there is not a change in current rates. They are hemorraging money all over, esp from their nonsensical regional structure.

I need a drink. Fortunately, I have that. Amaretto on the rocks.

Was FI.com out of service? I got a 404 error for the last day.

Doogie will never let the pilots near his stash.

We can only hope...

Any chance any currently jr. 190 guys care to give a cliff notes version of their life on the 190... Avg schedules, days off, commutable, reserve use yadda yadda yadda?

Was looking at them on wings and thought they looked bad unless you live in base. Pretty much all Phl-bos and bos-lga, lga-bos

to further add to my own post after looking at them in more detail. Tons of out and back day trips and multi leg day trips, lots of early shows/late finishes. kind of reminds me of when I worked for mesa, crap pay and crap schedules.

But hey...you're in PHL! So there's that.

You must have been one of those bent little kids that used to burn ants with a magnifying glass or tore the wings off of flies. What a mean and spiteful thing to say. I think it's time for you to be put back in the corn field for a while.

You are confusing me with your Buddy dope in an rj. He fits in perfectly with the pft crowd at awa. He is your biggest cheerleader. He is vulgar and would be a great asset and addition to the entitlement generation. Hey, look at me I got 3 weeks and I am senior to someone with 17years. Cactus, you and your west posters can kiss the nic goodbye. It's dead. It was an alpa proposal and that union is gone.

learn to like the Park Plaza in BOS and Hotel Pennsylvania in NY. Both are sh1t holes. They make the Lagoon in PHL look good.

For someone that doesn't have a dog in the fight, I see a bunch of sour grapes coming from you. I disagree, and so did two other federal judges (the remaining two judges also agreed, but said it wasn't ripe yet...please don't forget that). The Nicolau Award (it's funny that the CEL crowd still thinks it's a proposal) is here to stay, and will be ratified in a new contract in the future (near? who knows). The aviation world has seen USAPA for exactly what they stand for (Bradford & Cleary's picture next to the definition of "pariah"). Millions & millions lost to be at the same ultimate ending, pity that.

This story reminds me of 1 Samuel 17 (only it's lasting a bit longer). Have a great day M. I'm enjoying only 1.5 days at home today. Got to go, the dog needs a walk.

I don't know any pft losers at AWA. I do know a Gulfstream pft loser, pilot wanna-be who frequents these boards though.

Let me give you a hint. - He does not fly for a living but his daddy is an eastie.

Any guesses?

Since USAPA is so hell bent on DOH how do you justify the furloughed west guys going to the bottom of the east list behind new hires for the nov 15 recall? If you are going to preach something that you want for yourself, at least USAPA could do is stand by it. How can anyone take this union seriously if they pick and choose what rules they want to follow.

This really isn't anything new. If they were going to recall DOH then the recalls would have started with all west instead of the new hires. Being they've run 4 classes already, not gonna happen. Funny thing is, I bet some west people will jump on this. Giving up seniority, 50% paycut, 18 month lock on the east regardless if there are any west openings, crap commute etc.... And the best yet, pretty much giving up on the nicolau, talk about having integrity and sticking to what you believe is right.

By the way, I was also very recently told by a west source that there will most likely be a couple west classes to start the new year.
Hope everyone gets what they want, and soon! Good Luck!
