That is entirely likely, McTushy.
P.S. Your avatar makes it excruciatingly difficult to remain steadfast in my personal no tossing of salads rule. Nom Nom Nom!
Tweaker, you are great addition to the east pilot group.
Well, as sarcasm does not translate over the internetz, I'm gonna just say thanks and assume you are serious.
I all really want is to have a new contract. That is entirely impossible given teh three pilot groups at US Airways working under two CBA's. I stated to many USAPA officers that if I remain furloughed as a result of playing hardball in negotiations with a management group that is both dishonest and stonewalling, it will be worth it. 2+ years later on the street, 5 years of negotiations and there is no end in sight.
The negotiations will not progress with this infighting, as we have zero leverage. The pilots are more interested in beating on each other than standing up for a contract for all. This does nothing productive and has made US Airways (pilots) both a disgrace and a laughingstock. The management team has laughed all the way to the bank.
3 more years of Messa (SUCKS!) CRJ-900's - FAIL
Industry basement pay rates - FAIL
A contract with work rules shabbier than at my regional - FAIL
The court system has done the unheard of. It has caused rejoicing on all sides! Both East and West think they have won. This airline is bizarro world. This is the opposite of cutting the baby in half.
I know why US Airways is planning to attend job fairs. It will take substantial salesmanship to get someone to want to attach their cart to these horses. Perhaps an open bar would be beneficial.
At this point, a merger with American would be another nightmare. Nearly 2000 furloughees there. 5+ years to recall them all if there is not a change in current rates. They are hemorraging money all over, esp from their nonsensical regional structure.
I need a drink. Fortunately, I have that.
Amaretto on the rocks.
