So the AT guys shouldn't fight for their seniority because you think SWA may not be around forever? How about being able to enjoy your seniority and what it brings while your company IS STILL AROUND? Is that worth fighting for? Do you think getting great pay but not having weekends off for your kids for years and living on a beeper or cell would be worth the large increase in pay? For years? And how do you know death is forever?
Do you think over playing ones hand could backfire?
Do you think GK really likes the 717? The ATN guys know, he told them - he doesn't like the airplane.
Think Oil is going to go down? Think the economy will improve soon?
I think its all worth fighting for until you arrive at that fork in the road moment. This is that fork in the road moment. Yes, knowing what you are getting or No, taking a chance and hope you get something better? All this, before the CEO changes his mind about the company he just bought. Many things to consider. He has the excuse he needs to do almost anything to AirTran - and their counsel has told them about this risk.
Ah choices, ask any Frontier dude about taking chances and trying to see what is in the bush. Sometimes it works.
