And $2B in aquired debt.

Fair enough. The only point was to clarify the fact that the net cash impact to SWA was $35 million. This was in response to the following statement (which did not contain a mention of acquired debt. Had it, then there would have to be a discussion of acquired assets besides cash):

Do you not agree SWA pilots sacrificed a minimum three years of no growth/zero upgrades so cash could be accumulated for the eventual buyout of AAI? That money could have purchased SWA jets, not AT jets.

I understand your point, but how Gary decided to pay the bill; barter, stock, trading cards is irrelevant. The fact remains SWA hoarded cash for over three years banking an extra 1.5B.

plus,...growth fueled by rapidly buying shiney new jets on a credit card....can amount to quick upgrades, but then.......

Could we please get a thread where we don't have to see the Double Delto Morons and their new buddy Lumbcrap. And while we are purging the lav, stuff the Alaska goofball in the craptank. It's pathetic how you guys, who have no connection to either SWA or AAI, continue to post on our threads. The jealousy is rather pitiful. I know that Southwest threads are the only thing important in aviation right now, but try being a little less covetous, it's actually rather sad.

What I find intriguing is that you guys respond to them.............

Jealousy? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

You SWA f/os and your titanic egos kill me. You all sound like UAL pilots did in the early '90s. They, however, learned humility the hard way.

Something tells me its a lesson you boys are going to get a taste of real soon. Remember, it was your CEO that said SWA would be shrinking. You know what that means? Furloughs and downgrades.

And a big, healthy, tasty serving of crow.

Bon apetit.

Seniority is forever. There may be more mergers in your future, but the next group may decide to go the arbitration route and you will still be stuck with whatever you decide here.

Bye Bye---General Lee

As much as I am loath to agree with the General, he is right on the mark here:

Contracts come and go, seniority is forever. The pay might look good today, but 2 years down the road, you could be facing a BIG pay cut to "save the company".

Then you don't have ANYTHING.

Same with the next merger. Take a crap deal now, and the NEXT group decides to fight for something better, and you lose twice.

Nu

Because you are getting AAI Captain rates by coming over to the SWAPA contract...plus an additional 10hr more on top of that, and not have to pay out the arse for health care. But I guess that doesn't count for much.

What do you mean by "10hr more" ? Our short call Reserve guarantee is 78hours.

What am I missing ?
