I fly a 1980ish turbo arrow.
The engine is a continental 200HP with an STC for an inter-cooler that boosts power to 220HP.
The engine runs great up to about 9,000ft. As altitude increases above 9K there is a sporadic roughness similar to how the engine feels with fouled plugs. This bump...
A cargo area can hold a max weight of 200lbs.
A man that weighs 175lbs stands in the cargo area and is juggling 3 bowling balls. Each ball weighs 15lbs but he is only holding one at a time.
Is the cargo area overweight if he can juggle the balls for the entire flight?
I made a video so you can see.
Oh.... and I did follow all the FAR 101 rules so we can skip that conversation :)

I broke my record with a flight to 110,000 feet.

I have a small scuba tank certified and filled with 100% O2.
Is there some sort of attachment I can by that will step down the pressure enough to use it with a mask in my airplane?
When you get hired as a FO with a regional at what point do you get to do an ATP checkride?
I was thinking (yes I know this is "wrong") of trying to get hired by a regional, going through training to get the type rating and an ATP and then quitting.
I've got over 1500 hours and a few hundred...
How would you do the math for training costs vs. retention?
In other words, at some point in the contract it is cheaper to train a new pilot than to keep an existing one.
So do airlines calculate that? Would a manager sit down and plan that with 9 days off a month pilots will stay about x...
Because you guys are subcontractors and not employees. Subcontractors can’t unionize. Sure you fly for ‘Comair’ but really you fly for Delta. And if a contractor gets too expensive you just find a new one. You guys are not even employees of Delta. You don’t even have to be fired. They just...
I was thinking of finally getting to my ATP and I wonder...
Can you get an ATP and a type rating at the same time somewhere. I was thinking something simple like a Citation rating.
I just figured if it doesn't cost a bazillion dollars I might as well do something fun along with getting my...
I need some RNAV help; I'm using a KNS 80
Looking at this approach plate:

I assume what I could do is as follows:
Identify CUVGA in RNAV mode 107Deg / 26.4 NM from MGR
Then track the 173 FROM CUVGA and use DME distance to Identify the MAP?
Why...
I saw an ad in the newspaper for Mesa airlines; they will be conducting interviews at a local hotel here in Florida. Do they do this nation wide? Just seemed odd to me that they would go through that much trouble to look for pilots.
So does anyone else have a hard time flying the airplanes in battlefield 2?
They don't stall and oddly seem to accelerate when you pull up....
I need to learn how to drop bombs on target but perhaps my aviation background is hurting, not helping.
