Because you guys are subcontractors and not employees. Subcontractors can’t unionize. Sure you fly for ‘Comair’ but really you fly for Delta. And if a contractor gets too expensive you just find a new one. You guys are not even employees of Delta. You don’t even have to be fired. They just find another regional and stop paying you.

It’s not getting better. The real pilot shortage is here and guess what; regionals will hire 0 time monkeys and put them through school before the pay rates come up.

Get your time and then move on, This entitlement attitude is out of hand

What is this thread about? You are getting sick of flying Cessnas?

And your point is...

Thanx for the info (whatever you meant by it)!! So let me go out on a limb and guess that you aren't going to apply!?!?

It's more simple than that. It's because the supply of pilots is unable to influence the demand from shady companies. The average regional pilot doesn't care to make a difference because he is planning on leaving before a change can take place. In their view, it's a waste of time.

It's only bad because we allow it. You can't rape the willing.

1. You forgot to log off from a public access internet site.

2. You're drunk posting.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and assume it's case #1.

And since so many are willing to fly DC-9 seat-capacity RJ's at 50 seat wages you are preventing mainline flights from returning to airports that could support them. Which limits the number of mainline flights required, thereby reducing the need for well paid mainline pilots and assuring that you will have fewer mainline positions to compete for...

Pilots have been their own worst enemys for years.

Tell us something new...like how none of you would fly a 777 for your RJ wages just to get a type and then move on...

The delusion of the wonderful career opportunities if you only get such-and such experience has kept Orenstink, HK and the like in business for years.
