    CAL scope

It's just something to talk about here. Although the lack of insurance for new hires for the first six months is total BS. However, there are many options to choose from that are not expensive to cover you during this time. Many of the complaints people have about this place are going to be...

    Electronic Flight Bags@ CAL

The last two 777's have them. I think the 756 fleet will get them by next year.

Pay and Lodging during Compass ground school

Actually, the pay is right on to what we had at ACA/Independence Air...the original holders of the Compass certificate. Keep in mind, this was AFTER the pay cuts.

    CO make'n people happy again.

My guess is it is due to the storm headed towards Texas and the effect on Gulf Coast oil production and prices.

    23 months to captain award

I second that! Although I did always get a kick out of watching people almost jump out of their seats when the gear came down on approach.

    1st year pay at CAL

I'm on pace for $34-36K first year pay. I know it sucks but my decision to come to CAL was based on long term growth and these pay rates will drastically change (amongst other things) come Contract 08'. However, my pay will more than double come next year. I definately do not pick anything up...

    CAL To Sell 15 Aircraft

New 737-800's. New 737-900ER's. New 787's. $200+ million dollar quarterly profits. Large amounts of pilot retirements (even with age 65). Profit sharing checks. New Contract/PBS changes. Captain upgrades less than 3 years.......Things are very scary here! OK, we get your point things are not...

    NJA Interview

Relax man...the interview process there is painless, in fact you might enjoy it. You've got the call to interview and that is the hard part, do not give them a reason not to hire you. Good luck!

    Really CAL vs DAL

"Maybe Gen Lee does enjoy his job, is that so bad? You love CAL so much you go out on Military leave when you can. Looks like you chose Iraq over EWR. Good choice." Unbelievable that someone can be this ignorant. Thank you Scrapdog and the others serving in the armed services for your...

    Skybus or CAL

Man, you really are ignorant. Good luck with your upcoming interviews, I'm sure Delta, FedEx and UPS are just fighting at the chance to bring your groundbreaking industry insight and professionalism to their pilot groups.

Those pictures look like an Independence Air reunion tour.

So does CAL take orders from the FAA on when to cancel flights?

From what I have heard. The FAA did not want us leaving in the reported WX conditions when other airlines cancelled most of their flights. Our holdover charts state that in snow grains or ice pellets a pre takeoff contamination check is required after de-icing. "Snowflake" is a chief pilot who...

    CAL orders more 787's

As a CAL pilot I agree with appropriate wage increases for the new airplanes. However, I am confident that come Contract 08, we will obtain a significantly better contract addressing QOL and $ issues prior to any 787's coming on property. This is not the Continental of the past, the new blood...
