Who says the UAL pilots haven't done anything or haven't tried to get the company to fix the problem? The pilots don't write the software. This is a UAL managment issue, we cn only bring the issue up with management. If the UAX pilots want to deny the UAL pilots on their jumpseat, then you might as well terminate any sort of jumpseat agreement. If you know this is a problem then maybe the capt or F/O can leave the cockpit and go up to the gate and make sure the jumpseat priority is done correctly, I did it when I was at express and knew the gate agents routinely screwed JS and non revs over. Do what you need to do though.
