Abuse?....I would call what management is doing with this PBS thing abuse. Another management blunder that is made to work by forcing labor to bend over backwards.

we don'ts have da PBS. NWA does, and maybe CAL?

Exactly. NWA and CAL brothers are starting to think having it is normal and the practices at other airlines (SWA) constitute some sort of pilot abuse of the "system". They have become institutionalized and narrowminded. Little do they know the system is working just fine elsewhere.

gone for 4 days and this thread hasn't died yet?

Seems SWA management came through with an agreed upon profit sharing deposit on 9/14...just days after 9/11...when the rest of the industry was looking for ways to conserve cash...and breaking p[romises to their employees. And, these guys never even entertained the idea of pay cuts or benefit cuts.

Also...if memory serves me correct... the current contract extension was voted on after 9/11. The pay raise that gave us our current rates came with that extension...and the SWAPA leadership also recommend a "No" vote on that one...as I recall.

They were still not industry leading rates at the time. Far from it.

I think it's over too. I think you knew your answer before you ever typed the question. Good Luck at Delta! I mean that. There are some great folks over there I just hope they keep it together.

A quick question for any SWA/ NWA guy/gal.

Are the payrates and other info on Airline Pilot Central accurate?

SWA 12 yr capt: $198hr
vs.
NWA 12 yr 747 capt $177hr

Just curious.

Is there such a thing as double check mate? Or maybe super check mate?

Well if there was that might be it.

YPF you ought to beg out while you are still alive (barely) to fight another day.

Reject both offers and fly for Mesa.

You made the right choice, Delta is the place to go in an uncertain market.

SWA/FO.
I never said where or what I was doing for one.
Two, if you are so wise about the ways of the industry you will know that SWA cannot stay on top forever.
Yes, their business plan is the best around, but if you look around many have done what the Chinese do. Take the best parts and improve on them.
With what ever I choose, it is a lot better than where I am now. It is all about personal and professional goals. Not about whose is longer.

Are there any 12 year 747 Capts at NWA?

I figured it would take a lot more than 12 years to hold it these days. Just wondering.

put it down and step away from the crack pipe.

I'm not looking to change jobs, you are.

You would too if you worked where I do. You are lucky that you are god. On a good day I am just human.
