Does JetBlue have career FO's?

The reason I am asking is that at my prior airline we had a couple of FO's that were not able to pass their Captain upgrade and were let go after their second try. Two that I know now fly for JetBlue.
At United we have at least 500 permanent FO's. What happens if you can not upgrade at Blue?

Curious minds want to know?

My understanding is yes. There is no "up or out" policy here. On the other hand. We had one that busted upgrade twice, and then couldn't even pass the requal for the right seat. That pilot was let go.

500 FO's that are UNABLE to upgrade at UAL?? I find that hard to believe. Maybe 500 who don't upgrade because of the QOL they have in the FO seat, but that's a different story.
 
I thought this thread was about all of the dudes that will never upgrade to CA on the bus...

Whaddya think: we have about 200 more (future captains) to hire, than everyone else after that will be a permanent FO.

If you fail your CA upgrade it is back to the right seat for one year before you are allowed to try again. Yes, I think we have some, though not many. And we also have some that don't upgrade for QOL.

Not arguing, but isn't it 2 tries and out the door if you flunk the 3rd?
 
fr8dog is absolutely correct:

From the FCOM: "Failure to complete the 3rd upgrade attempt may result in termination."

I can think of 5 or so who have chosen to stay in the right seat after their unsuccessful attempts.

Everyone else is a QOL issue.

Maybe for the 320 but there at least 1000 more needed for RJ captains. Plus retirements, there are pilots at B6 who will turn 60 eventually and attrition (I mean recalls).

We have 1600+ pilots on property and have orders out to 433 (233 airbii/200RJs) aircraft (about 130 aircraft today). Staffing goal is 7 pilots per seat.

 
Exactly, MEK. Airbus captains are almost all here, maybe I was wrong, maybe we have 300-400 to go. Retirements? Not as many as others. Attrition? You betcha if we don't fix some things. Either way, the prospect of a career 190 CA seems kinda ... ugh. BUT maybe the PCG brings those rates way up, mx reliability climbs back up (and stays) and maybe even productivity increases. Then and only then would being a 190 CA be just enough to get you some chicks at the local Applebee's happy hour.

Applebees...I wish. I have been trying to hook up with this Sonic Drive through girl on skates....but then again, im not a 320 CA. Oh yes...maybe one day soon... I can dream of the Applebees girl of my dreams, with a side of boneless wings
