LD,
I will be in 50EX recurrent in TEB starting tomorrow. I will keep my eyes open for any information that I can gather about the x-wind handling of the 50EX. Unlike some, I always enjoy going to recurrent. It allows me to get a good feeling of the problem areas that operators are seeing...
LD -
In all seriousness, have you ever wrote a PAPEr on the Legacy?? I am sure the guys at work would love a PAPEr written by you describing all the merits of the Legacy over the DA50EX! Sorta seems like the 50EX is just a PAPErweight in comparison, a hangar queen shall we say. GAREEEEttt a...
All this rant and you honestly never heard of a "tech stop"
There's a voice of experience huh?
:erm:
Its amazing you can continue to drag this out and make yourself look so unprofessional. Why?
Its also a shame its now no secret who you work for...they must be embarrassed!
:(
and yes...
PK-RJG or PK-RGJ I believe. Now who is "just talking out of your ignorant, bloated backside?" And the crew calling it a "tech stop for fuel" after loading up 2 pax out of KSMO made it pretty obvious to me why they were going to Page. How can you possibly think that you know every trip that every...
Looks like it would have been a bad idea.
I heard a Legacy picking up their clearance to Page, AZ a few days back, out of KSMO. Their final destination after Page? Chicago. I guess the Legacy can't even depart a 5000' runway to go to Chicago when it's wet - it can only go 250 miles!! LOL.
Then...
Two words - operator error.
The Falcon brakes work well, IF you use them properly. When I flew the Legacy on a demo, yeah the brakes were fine, but they DO get hot, even on landing. To deny that would be a lie.
LD - Like I said earlier in the thread, the Legacy is an ok corporate shuttle. As...
Of course you don't operate a Gulfstream at Mmo. Mmo in the G550 is Mach .885. It's routinely flown at Mach .85 though.
Yeah, that's why you see Legacy's all over TEB. Because it's such a popular corporate jet.
I never said that it did.
Well, you said the Legacy was modern. So, I pointed out that actually the 50EX has a more modern avionics package. VNAV is a safety benefit, as well as the standard for corporate aircraft. Hell, even the Citation Mustangs have VNAV!
The yoke is ridiculous... I have...
My BS detector gets pegged on HIGH when someone tells me anyone has "worked out ALL the bugs." Not Dassault, not Gulfstream, not EMB can work out ALL the bugs of an airframe. To say that tells me we're very likely getting a bias viewpoint on the Legacy.
I've done a demo in the Legacy and as...
LegacyDriver, you have a reputation! Many of us know about your "piloting skills." I'd prefer not to call your attributes "skills" though. That would be giving you too much credit.
That sound risky, considering you need full rudder to land a Falcon 50EX in a crosswind! But, whose year salary...
LegacyDriver - Don't you have something else to do, other than act childish?
I suggest you take one of your 50's up for some x-wind landing practice; what do you think? Clearly, you need some practice to learn proper rudder usage. Maybe taking a tailwheel a/c up would be good for you too...
Yeah but you work for the worlds lowest paying Falcon 50 operator; starting guys at $63k/year.
Most everyone but you claims that the Legacy is a POS and the 50EX is a great airplane. Do I sense a "little" bias?
X-wind performance in the 50EX? I've landed with a 42 knot crosswind in the 50EX...
ARINC Direct. Their numbers were spot on, from my experience.
I am another one that wouldn't take the 50EX to Hawaii from CRQ. In the 50, I think you have some courage to do it. No matter how you work it, more than 50-60 knots on the nose, and you have a wet footprint.
There's my two cents...
LS - Yeah, Hawaii is not a problem, as long as the winds are not too strong. There have many more than a few days I couldn't do SAN to PHOG, even at LRC w/o a wet footprint.
I am on a trip and get home Thursday night. I've been gone for a week. We talked and she said that there's nobody else she's involved with, and she is just trying to keep some of her young, as she doesn't feel as sexy as she used to be. We are going to go to couples counseling to try to deal...
No, I'd never tell her not to get one. It's her body. What I resent is her hiding it, and then telling me she went alone to get it. It seems highly unlikely.
So about a month ago, my wife asked if I thought she should get a tattoo. We talked about it and by the end of the discussion, she didn't want one anymore (horray!). I come home from a five day trip, and as she's making dinner, what do I notice as she bends over? A lower back tattoo! Mmmm, ok. I...
How are things at West Coast Charters? Are the pilots still way overworked and way underpaid? Do they have a Chief Pilot who has been there more than six months yet? I am debating applying if things have improved.
