I don't know... $7K+/month NET sounds pretty good! I don't think it'll go all that junior. If I was a single guy I'd be all over it! I've had enough overnights in DHN, MGM, CSG, HSV, etc. etc. to last a lifetime! A little change of scenery would be awesome! I'm a couple months shy of 10yr...
230 3-day lines? We must be looking at completely different schedules. When I was done bidding for all the naps AND 3-days I was only at like 160... ?
EDIT: I just looked again to make sure I didn't screw myself. I'm guessing you selected the 3-day trip search criteria, and just clicked...
How long is the estimated upgrade time at these other companies? NJA is obviously my first choice, but it would be nice to have a plan B. CS seems to be a decent 2nd pick. How's the QOL, sched, people, retirement, etc. there?
Well? Is it horrible, or not that bad? Please tell me they didn't give you any 8-day tours!
My current sched at ASA generally only gives me 12-13 days off/mo, and I'm still able to stay sober throughout the day -- most of the time... ;)
So will DTW be a junior or senior base? If senior, what's a reasonable estimate on how long to hold it?
Everyone has been so quiet lately regarding Spirit. Throw me a bone! What's the latest? Negotiations? Growth estimates still the same? I read that it's running over 6 years for upgrade...
Well, they aren't picking up 7yr regional captains. At least not this one. Resume has been on file for over a year, and nada.
Although, now that DTW is no more, I couldn't do it anyway.
What about TSA? I'm assuming that since you're not 121 you're subject to the same rules as a regular passenger right? Does everyone check their luggage for the most part, or can you carry it on with the liquids since you're in uniform? 7 days man, I'd be carrying my whole medicine cabinet. ;)...
Do other carriers have such limited usage on their clauses? 5 times in a 2 yr period if I'm reading that correctly. In the 2 yrs that I commuted way back when, I know I called in a hell of a lot more than 5 times...
Exactly! Someone can actually see the forest for the trees -- very nice.
All you others never cease to amaze me! Y'all must be an absolute treat to fly with!
Make sure you're at an out-station when you do this one. They now have a document that explains the tolerance of the belts. Needs to be more than 10% of the width frayed. Easy inspection for mx in ATL, but could take a while for contract mx to inspect it at an out-station...
The guy was saying that starting pay at a regional qualifies for food stamps. We're not talking about captains. I know that we still start out at $19/hr at ASA -- do the math. The guy was a former pilot trying to help out our industry. You should just be thanking him, not trying to discredit him!
I've been here over 6yrs, took the upgrade as fast as I could hold it on any equipment, and I only have 250hrs 121pic. ...still can't hold a line on the CR2, by the way! At 7.5 yrs I'll just be starting to qualify for majors, and I certainly won't be considering myself an "old fart" at that point.
I'll march if it's in front of the NMB headquarters! They're who we're fighting now! ASA will never give us what we want unless EVERY captain flys the contract everytime! I don't see that happening anytime soon, so a release is the only way to get what we deserve!
