    Death To America

Hair-On-Fire, you sound just like all those ragheads with their ridiculous but nevertheless powerful statements how they're the victims to Jewish Nazi-isk ways. Bull. If all the arabs droppped their weapons tomorrow, there will be peace in the middle-east. If Israel drops their weapons...

    Death To America

"There will peace in the middle east when arabs love their children more than they hate the [jews/christian/hindus]" Golda Meir 1973. This is World War 3 folks. We're in it right now! Here are the countries being attacked by Muslims: U.S. U.K. Israel Australia Spain Denmark France Thailand...

    A question for SWA pilots.

I've heard this over and over from management: Not going int'l until domestic growth has leveled off. That's not going to happen anytime soon. We still need to fill DEN, RSW, PHL, PIT, IAD, MSY etc. We're not even close on that. Also, there are still plenty of places we haven't gone into...

    United 93 Movie

You guys say Never Again, great! Yet, you probably support our current politicians (elephants and a$$es) who have done NOTHING to get us off foreign oil. They suggest drilling ANWAR, or give us a $100 rebate, or better yet, tax Exxon. What a joke! This problem has allowed the enemy, led by...

    Swa ?

People just bid for specific days off. Further, most people don't care where they overnight, rather how much does the trip pay and how long is the layover. Average SWA block time per flight is 1.8 so west coasters don't fly to the east coast too often.

    JetBlue Q

I'm a former NJA and now at SWA, so here's my take: Flying corporate was fun, no doubt. But here's the problem. Your wife and kids aren't enjoying the time with you at Aspen or Kiev or whatever, they're wondering why you're not at home with them! Whenever I flew to an exotic local (that...

    ALPA Pay....SUCKERS!! LOL

Just shows how ALPA has become a TOTAL waste of your money. They should just be disbanded. They have done more harm than good for the aviation industry in the last 10-15 years. Go ahead, tell me I'm wrong. They have misled or coerced regionals into signing poor contracts, led a losing fight...

Any calls for SWA January Classes?

well, I'm on my 4th month on the line and I got reserve. I was able to trade most of it away sans one four day trip. The rest I was able to fly as first year or EF/MOT/DOT pay. For the month of November, I worked 18 days which had 10 overnights. Most of the trips were turns or two days. 120...

Any calls for SWA January Classes?

pay is 2k gross every two weeks, paid on the 5th and 20th. You have basic health insurance right off the bat, and an upgraded version 30 days later (something like that, anyway). By the way, most guys are making about 5-6k gross a month after IOE (excluding per diem) with a little overtime here...

    Palm OS flight status program

cool, just downloaded it. Any advice on a free or cheap (i am a pilot after all), logbook program for the Treo instead of carrying that red or green book?

New NEt JEts pay rates !

Overrall, the NJA contract is pretty good. 1. Home basing beats any 121 commuting hands down. 2. Although the average duty day is 12 hours, pilots hang out in plush leather seats and watch movies on plasma TV's on many of the FBO's they go to - for half the day. 3. Company-paid crew meals...

    Larger fleet Netjets or Southwest?

Actually SWA just got another delivery this week making it 440. I think we have 4 or five more for the year to go. 35 more scheduled next year.

    Latest SWA Hiring News

I may be repeating what's been said before, but what the he11. Just spoke with PHX CP, here is the latest: 160 to be hired over next three months, 3 classes in Nov, 2 in Dec, 3 in Jan. 35 aircraft deliveries for '06 equals at least 350 new pilots (even though current aircraft/pilot ratio is...

    Continental

Can anyone shed some truth on this: I had a CAL jumpseater the other day who introduced himself as a B-777 Captain. He looked damn young - under 50. He later mentioned he's been at CAL 14 years! Does that make any sense? Is that plausible?

    Big Netjets decision...Need Help!

Netjets has hardly proven a succesful past fostering a successful future: 1. Netjets has laid off pilots before 2. Netjets management/union relationships are absolutely awful (even with the T/A) Remember, you practically had to get on your knees for four years, begging to get a...

    Big Netjets decision...Need Help!

I'll be fashnizzled! Now that you have a descent T/A, Netjets is better than Southwest? Who are you kidding? I flew for NJA and now fly for SWA. Hands down, SWA is a better company, in every aspect: 1. Pay 2. Schedule 3. Managment/Employee Relationship 4. Fun on the job 5...

    Part 91 to Southwest

As a former corporate guy who is now at SWA I can attest that you will need a typed letter from your boss/ChiefPilot on company letterhead stating your position, employment dates etc. They're only going to ask for that AFTER you've been offered a job...so don't cross the bridge before you get...

Dude, I forgot your age, but I know you're under 50, so here's the next 10 years. Most junior line is 15 days a month, average line is 13-14 days, most senior is 11 days a month. (The range is base pay to working a few extra days a month) Year 1: 55-65k Year 2: 90-105k Year 3: 95-110k Year 4...
