On another note:
I am trying to find out information concerning services for Murray.
Let me know if you want the information when I get it. PM will be fine.
Dpeneding on my schedule (I have a 4-day this weekend), I am going to try and be there.
Bold for emphasis, color for comments...
I will agree that emotions are charged right now because the majority of us in this thread lost a good friend...and an instructor who we can thank for being where we are today, not only as pilots, but as individuals.
From your post, you obviously...
Here we are trying hard to remember a fellow friend and pilot that we have worked with...and you...
...you are armchair QBing the accident less than 12 hours after it happened. Why don't you give youself a big old pat on the back for that one!
If you have been on site and have all the...
Make that 2 of us. Murray was a great pilot and good friend.
If he signed you off as safe to fly, you were.
He probably had more hours in the Commander than most pilots will see in a career.
Godspeed MB.
Amen to that! Winter is always hard on equipment in general, not just airplanes. You always expect certain things to break more in the winter than any other time of year.
My personal philosophy is to always hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst.
Used to be $1500 for six months rather than $1700 for 3 months and then your regular pay.
I agree that it is still a bit low in this current market, but companies aren't going to change radically overnight.
Class C - First off, check for a published Clearance Delivery frequency. Being VFR, I would check my AFD, should be published there. Listen to ATIS...sometimes they will spell out what they want VFR aircraft to do. i.e. "all IFR and VFR departures contact clearance delivery on xxx.x" or "all...
Local FSS...I needed a good laugh today!
Might be wrong here, but didn't I also read that we are supposed to keep DUATs (as we know it) through summer 2008? Something about we were supposed to have lost it this summer, but somehow managed to keep it active until next year... I just hope by...
I agree, not sure it will happen, but I do think that the FAA needs to step in soon and set reasonable minimums for 121 F/O's. Otherwise the regionals will keep trying to out do each other and we will have nothing but a bunch of inexperienced 250 F/O's flying passengers around. Scary thought...
I don't know about everybody else, but I would rather have a job flying 135 that paid a little less than deal with the regionals. Mainly because I don't have to wear the uniform and little hat, don't have to deal with the TSA on a daily basis, don't have to put up with crowded terminals or...
Guess his pilots come from people like me. Experienced in 135, way over mins, moving for personal reasons and needed a job. They had not had a full time pilot on that run in several months, so I figured it should be fairly easy for me to get that particular run instead of moving off somewhere...

I own a 1968 wood wing 7ECA and have rebuilt it from the ground up. If you want more info about the wing spar AD and what to look for in a prebuy, drop me a PM and I will be glad to share some knowledge.
