yes - close
I used to "pass gas" in an HC/MC-130P before switching to MC-130Hs. The helos were definitely close. The -47 really use to push us around - you could feel them back there. Of course, we were slightly above stall speed, at night and low to the ground to boot. Ahh the memories.
closes
The bid opened today and will close in 45 days. The FCIF said to expect the next bid during summer of 08 - which will be the first bid to include the 777.

This posting provides for the opening of a 757 domicile in Memphis, a 757 FDA in Paris, an Airbus FDA in Hong Kong and the closing of the Subic Bay Airbus FDA. Additionally, we are expanding the LAX MD11 domicile by 15 Captains to increase the standard crew level in anticipation of additional...
I have heard nothing...
Who knows when the window will open, but I would guess sometime this next year. We are opening 2 new over seas domiciles, but we have a bunch of over 60 dudes parking in the two engineer seats waiting for the rule to change. Right now we are not short on guys cuz it...
Thanks Albie
I was merely trying to pass information along to potential applicants. I am not trying to start a "my airline is better than your airline" argument.

Funny you should ask...
Great post Albie...
I was on a crew bus for a rather lengthy ride to a far gate last night... I was talking with a 727 SO who stated it was his second tour as an SO on the Boeing... He went on to say he was with Delta in his previous life. I asked him how it was...
well said, but...
It might be best to say we have all sorts of planes going in all directions at all hours. There is such a huge variety, that everyone finds something they like. If you like; day/night/domestic/international/short hops/long hops/multi-leg trips/single leg trips/long...
I've said it before...
Just put all the over 60 guys in the right seat. Solves the - only one over 60 guy in the front seats. The old guys get to keep working and the young guys get to upgrade.

I'll bite...
I guess I am one of the spoiled brats... If the info you speak of is in the green screen, I avoid it like the plague. If you know of some good info, instead of calling us names, please pass it along.

dunno
I really wasn't aware of what was announced already. I know I have been flying a lot of new Airbi lately... I was just thinking that 26 more "widebodies" for FY 08 was significant.
Goose17
Just passing along something I had learned a couple days ago...
I was sitting at a ramp during a standby period and was watching the FedEx propaganda channel on the TV. They stated that we are getting 26 additional wide body aircraft in FY 08!
I thought that was substantial and worthy of...
struggle
That is what C-130s do... struggle to say in the air!
Hurlburt flies a lot of low levels up that way and when I read the headline, I was concerned we lost another special ops bird.

One could argue...
If I am not mistaken, I believe all the MD-11 selectees have had their training dates slid. You could make a case that the classes have been delayed due to the purple nuggets getting trained first and going to Alaska only to come back to Memphis ahead of the more senior...
I used to live in Memphis
I lived in Memphis for 4.5 years. I spent 1 year in Bartlet and the rest in G'town. I got a wife and two little boys...
The best thing about Memphis is FedEx. Living there gives you lots of scheduling, upgrade and extra cash options, but at what cost? We had a nice...

you must not know FedEx
Mix and match is the FedEx way. We will take anyone's leftovers if the price is right. The most frequent statement in our aircraft regs is; "Some Aircraft".
