This posting provides for the opening of a 757 domicile in Memphis, a 757 FDA in Paris, an Airbus FDA in Hong Kong and the closing of the Subic Bay Airbus FDA. Additionally, we are expanding the LAX MD11 domicile by 15 Captains to increase the standard crew level in anticipation of additional domestic flying.

Expanded LAX fllying! That's perfect. Now if they would just start interviewing again....

This bid has an increase of:

5 ANC MD-11 Capt
15 LAX MD-11 Capt
4 MEM MD-11 Capt
46 HKG Airbus Capt
38 CDG 757 Capt
35 MEM 757 Capt
44 HGK Airbus F/O
37 CDG 757 F/O
20 MEM 757 F/O

with a reduction of 37 each Capt / F/O in Subic.

It is a good increase, but with all the over 60 guys going to the panel to wait out the rule change, interviews are not coming as quickly as otherwise.

when does the bid close? and is this the last one of the year.

The bid opened today and will close in 45 days. The FCIF said to expect the next bid during summer of 08 - which will be the first bid to include the 777.

It seems like this comparatively small bid forces the hand of Subic guys. They don't have much in the way of options and most will end up having to take another FDA, unless they want to (and are able to) go back to the narrow body in MEM. Since they are being excessed, don't they have to take a primary award?

Of course some of the Capts may be able to hold ANC or LAX if they are willing to retrain and a few of the FOs might be able to move to the left seat of the 757, but overall it seems like they are getting the short end of the stick esp the right seaters. HGK and SFS are two very different deals.
