I've been out of town for a week and a half but my wife said we received a bill for a jumpseat I took on FDX a few weeks ago (EWR-IND-MSP). She said it was about $40.

For some reason, I thought jumpseating on FDX was free, does anyone know what their pricing is for future flights.

Thanks!

Did you put yourself in a box first? We don't charge for jumpseats. This sounds like a phishing scam if you ask me.

I guess I don't know what you mean by putting myself in a box first but all I did was list for the jumpseat, showed up, went out to the plane with the crew, got in, flew to IND, hung out for a few hours, got on another plane to MSP and went home to bed.

I called the FDX jumpseat phone number and asked them, they said I shouldn't have been charged. I haven't seen the bill yet because I've been out of town but I was just trying to figure it out because I'm a cheap FO.

Okay, I'm an idiot. I just talked to my wife about the "putting myself in a box first", she says, "Well, it's FedEx, he probably meant did you ship yourself in a box." It's been a long day.

I always put myself in a box before my first trip of the rotation.

i think your wife is trying to get $40 for shoe money man.... Fedex doesnt charge for jumpseating..... sure it wasnt airtran?? they charge for the second jumpseater

If you did put yourself in a box...did you follow step two and just put your junk in the box?
I guess it would have been a bit more clear if I said I put myself in THE box before every rotation.

Man $40 to ship a box with a person in it overnight? Fedex sure does give out those discounts!

:)
