Look Professor Dumbledore, you can spin it anyway you want (doesn't matter), but many Mesaba guys who turned down the flow are now thinking about how smart of a decision that was.
I kinda see what's going on here. You're a little clueless on the history of the flow. The first set of guys with the option to flow were too old to make the math work (and I never said they were 64, see post #54 if you need to review, you have a problem reading but we've been over that) with the Northwest payscales at the time. Additionally the loss in earning (which was a 5-7 recovery time) they would not be able to continue pouring into their 401k either which makes matters even more frustrating. The wage at NW was unsustainable and not worth the investment in time unless you had 7 or more years left.
You say they are regretting their decision, that may be a possibility. You have to remember though, a lot of these pilots aren't handicapped (like you), and they realize no one had a crystal ball, so it's easy to forgive yourself. In fact I would hope that happens almost immediately. They made the best decision with the information available and making six figures with 15-19 days off isn't a terrible life. Even if we do furlough as a result of the bankruptcy they will still make six figures with 15-19 days off. I really don't know how better to spell this out to you... but I am comforted in knowing you choose not to understand anyway. I regret not playing the powerball 3 14 20 39 40 37, but I have yet to play powerball because I don't have a crystal ball. So my regret is superficial, just like theirs.
I feel you are projecting your regrets onto other pilots, and I'm curious why that is. You have some horrible regret that causes you to hide in the magic porn box in an effort to distract you from your own life. Whatever you've done, it's ok, try to move forward and enjoy your life. Whatever mistakes you've made and pain you've caused yourself will ease with time. So let the adults talk, and you go enjoy that overnight. Also, it helps to read a book, get back in the habit, instead of just seeing whatever you want to see.
Have you talked to any departed Mesaba Captain to the flow up that wishes he/she had stayed at Mesaba? Didn't think so. Enjoy PNCL forever, hopefully.
I find it bizarre that you answer that question if you've spoken to some of our flows. If you had you would realize the paycut has been tough on more than one of them. I suppose it is possible you have spoken to a few flows and not run into the guys who have had hard times (but still manage to smile), I know I haven't talked to ALL of them, but it's been a mixed bag. Perhaps you give the same sort of attention to people talking as you do to reading, I'm worried that may be the case.
You should talk to some of our guys that went to SWA, who knows they could be making more than you. When you looked into your crystal ball why didn't you decide to goto SWA when you had the chance? Is that the deep well of regret you have that makes you bury yourself into this site so much? Perhaps some of the SWA people here can help you out, it's never too late.
