It will benifit RAH pilots at first then maybe Midwest pilots later, it will not beifit both at the same time.Look in your contract and see if there is a paragraph about wet leases.

In the short run yes it will benefit the RAH pilot group. in the long run, too soon to tell. We can all speculate and guess but the future holds what the future holds.

On page 1.6 of our contract. DRY/WET Lease. " The company will not enter into any dry/wet lease agreement, or contract with or for any other carrier or entities (government, military or commercial) without mutual agreement with the union"

Since this thing was dumped on us last minute and we found out though the media and or CEO there was no time to say yes or no. Now there is still a year and a half left to see what will happen but our union is on it.

The airline industry or every industry for that matter has become managements game of chess. They are the kings we are the pawns. They make all the money at the expense of their employees. Our industry changing drastically. We all have a choice to make, either go with the change or get out. But Never Never Cross a picket line.

Sad but True - but it's a "Dog Eat Dog" world out there, in today's airline business. In my opinion, Midwest management is betting that their pilots will never certify/transition/or fly the E170s. Republic will operate them at a much lower cost, helping Midwest stay afloat and hopefully weather the storm. And, just in case they go T*ts Up, Brother Bedford has made sure he gets first dibs on what's left over! Sucks for the Midwest guys, I'd hate to see anyone lose their jobs.

YX guys may fall into the trap of "capturing the flying" - this ALPA tactic will backfire for all of us, by keeping the E170 rates below what they should be. It's a pity that their pilots just can't walk out and call mngt's bluff. If this were to happen mngt everywhere would change their minds about this business practice.
YX mngt are a bunch of scumbags who had a great airline and ran it into the ground - they don't want their own guys to fly the equipment ever. Why? Because it's easier to use sub contractors, then you don't have to bother with labor/training etc...

Point made then. In your contract it says they can not enter into....etc. But they did anyway!

Management at SkyW has said that if there is a Midwest strike; we will honor them and not fly as well. Will you do the same?

Also I read on the forum today that we will be losing a few of our routes to you for Midwest. What are your thoughts on this?

I'm really glad that B*dford whor*d himself out to get this flying. I just hope that you people have the backbone to do the right thing.

...but I'll throw out a guess that RAH union pilots will refuse any struck work, should it get to that.

Correct we did take over the routes that SkyWay flew.

However;

We did not do this as a bargaining tool to force Midwest pilots into more concessions.

JA did not pay Midwest management $25 million to fly the routes.

Additionally preferential interviews were held for Skyway pilots although the nature of the industry prevented us from hiring for a while.

Ok, would the "struck work" be the YX city pairs (717/80 flights) or ANY Midwest Connect flying (MKE-GRB/MKG/FNT)?
