With regard to Wings Air at Lawrenceville Gwinnet County airport,LZU.This another place to STAY FAR AWAY from as possible!!!They use the "Bushwood" call sign on the radio,fly PA-31Navajo Panther aircraft,which are loaded with SQUAWKS,since the MX Dept is woefully understaffed,mgmt is INCOMPETENT and UNPROFFESSIONAL as they can be!!
If a captain is told to get a hotel room near ATL,but instead drives to their home in Lawrenceville,they FIRE not just the captain,but also the FO,who had done nothing wrong!!If a captain has to fly a MISSED APPROACH at AHN because 200 & 1/2 minimums,you still cannot see the runway environment,they fire that captain!!!
All of the GPS data bases in Wings Air aircraft are atleast 6 mo. out of date and many are 12 mos. or more out of date!!! This means no GPS approaches or IFR use for enroute nav either!!!What ever happened to ADHERENCE to FAR's?? It is better to NOT get VIOLATED than to work for this outfit!!!!

This formerly was an ON-DEMAND PT. 135 operation trying to go PT.135 SCHEDULED OPS.
Their current routes are AHN-ATL,MCN-ATL.

I live right by LZU... I wonder if I could jumpseat on them to work.

Sure would save some time... worth risking your life over, right? :)
 
If a captain has to fly a missed approach at AHN because of 200 1/2, you still cannot see the runway, they fire that captain

questions:
could you not see the runway?
were you that captain?
did you drive to Lawrenceville?
if the mins are 200 1/2 , you get in..it's that simple.
don't be looking up and cheating.flythe approach and at mins look up, if you see the rabbit, drop another 100, you're in.what's the problem?

BTW, there is no FO in a navajo. only a beatch!!
 
Talked with their Chief Pilot about a job when I was furloughed. SM are his initials. He said pay was 32k per year as captain and schedule was like 4 on then 2 or 3 off couldnt remember. No RONs. He seemed like a good guy on the phone anyways.

Talked with their Chief Pilot about a job when I was furloughed. SM are his initials. He said pay was 32k per year as captain and schedule was like 4 on then 2 or 3 off couldnt remember. No RONs. He seemed like a good guy on the phone anyways.

Sorry,the guy your are referring to was FIRED!!!!They have a NEW CHIEF PILOT!!!

then again you just might be an undercover cross dresser...... hey it's ok we all have our quirks! lol
 
I know a former Capt there that had 2 paychecks BOUNCE!:cool: They told him it was a cash flow error and would be taken care of asap...whateva..happened about a year ago.

He went back to instructing out of PDK and said "stay far away".

G-force, if you have anything that is truthful to report why don't you just send me a pm. I would be most curious. Maybe you make things up for sensationalism. I know a president elect who did that.

I did a search and is not the first company you have decided to try in the court of internet chat room public opinion. You rant with the zeal of a prosecutor, but the logic would demand that you're at the local FSDO with facts, dates, and flight log copies, or any relevent shred of evidence thay could use. you missed the boat somewhere because my little blurb took your quote and applied it to the current economic mess. you are so far off base on my reply to me.

you just don't get it. I am sorry you are out of work at Xmas and I hope you and your wife and kids are blessed this Xmas. I watched " A Christmas Carol" on AMC last night with George Scott as Scrooge and it really helped to get me refocused myself this Christmas. Best wishes G Force in your time of trouble. it is the year end and you can get a fresh start in 2009

For openers, I don't know what they asked you to do. since you've already lit the bonfire, clue me in.

What I said was FARs are written because pilots have to make judgments (grey area)(they call it grey area because it requires grey matter). it is that simple. No company GOM can cover the variables that come up to a flight crew.

How complex can an operation be that flies from athens to ATL?

ON 2 statements that were as plain as day, you have twisted them all around and made them crooked, therefore , No, you don't have it straight. Not by a longshot.
