Time for you AirTrannie types to get on the decert ALPA bandwagon.

That would be somewhat difficult, as we're not represented by ALPA (unfortunately).

Now that ALPA is off the property I think that the West guys have a pretty good argument to have it go to the federally mandated arbitration again.

Why would the West want to re-argue a binding award? They should be prepared to litigate the inevitable USAPA challenge, but the only way they can lose is if they fail to show up.

It was the will of the pilots. This is a democracy, remember. They were unhappy with what ALPA gave them, and so they kicked them out.

It's mob rule in the guise of democracy. They were unhappy with what their elected representatives were able to obtain for them in an impartial process, so they have now resorted to an attempt to secure it by brute force.

Wasn't the Nicolau award created in part by the transition agreement.
Actually, the arbitration processs was part of ALPA Merger Policy. The TA is still in effect but it's seperate from the arbitration. The Nic Award will stand because of past precedent. No judge will overturn it.

USAPA will not be able to fulfil its promises and all USAirways pilots will suffer as a result. This is called a pyrrhic victory.

"The US Airways pilots are one of the most senior and experienced pilot groups in the United States. We fly a large fleet of jet aircraft, including the Boeing B-737-300/400 and B-757/767 series, the Airbus A319/320/321 series, and the 266-seat Airbus A330."

"and we have crashed more airplanes than anyone else."

This is excluding the AWA pilot group.

Morons
My friend was the Captain on the LAX crash. He left behind a wonderful Wife and a teenage son. Shame on you!

During the same time frame United had fewer crashes but killed far more of their customers.

Statistics ....

Pretty amazing that the "East" pilots were so damn close to liquidation, and it was the west comes to its rescue. Fast Fwd three years and the "East" pilots once again took a major step towards liquidation at the West's expense.

ALPA has its faults there is no question about that but today I truly feel sorry for the HP guys.

Not only will the economic conditions of a slowing economy and high oil prices cause problems but East guys are helping the rest of the industry stabilize by putting Airways under for good.

Good Luck!

Just because the Treaty of Versailles was signed doesn't mean we don't retain the right to bomb the dog snot out of Germany and their stupid Kaiser!

Like John Belushi said in Animal House,
"Yeah was it all over when the Germans Bombed Pearl harbor?" NOOOOOOOO!
