You're confusing cause and effect. Seniority lists can either be ratio-ed (dovetailed) together, stapled together or a tiered combination of both. The methodology for doing so is a separate issue. A DOH integration could easily result in a staple job which is exactly what the Easties want with the Westies.

The true 'black and white issue' is that the Easties want use their greater numbers to get around an agreed-to arbitration. Wielding the 'DOH' mantra is merely subterfuge.

I'm not arguing or stirring the pot. Is the "current" list right now strictly DOH? Or is it one of the kinds you mentioned above.

Thanks for clarifying. So it is strictly date of hire from the two existing east/west lists at the date of the east/west merger. So my point was no "staple" job. If it was, # 800 and whatever on the west would be nailed to to bottom with a 3000ish number. Not trying to piss anyone off. Just stating it is by definition, DOH. Call it staple if you wish. Actually, no. The court case was about USAPA's failure to represent the West fairly. Apparently it isn't ripe yet but that could change very soon. Or, the court may rule separately that the airline can also be held liable for a DFR which would make them not even look at USAPA's list. Stay tuned.

I said to keep emotions aside. I was just saying it is wrong to call it a staple list. It is DOH period.

Actually, I think the same of your groups opinions. Seriously, if I was a West guy, with the Nic in place, my thoughts would be "SWEET! We are in great shape seniority-wise. Is it a fair list? Not really. Am I happy about it. Hell yes. I'll take it and keep my mouth shut."

What I am seeing from the West (or was a couple weeks ago), at least on this board is "SWEET! We are in great shape seniority-wise. Is it a fair list? F&%# yeah! Am I happy about it? F$#@ yeah. I'll take it and make up a an immature name like "Easthole or Eastwipe" and take it like a sore winner and rub it in your face".

I understand looking out for #1. It is human nature. Take the given list, realize it is warped, yet keep your mouth shut. Not say it is the most fair and f-you East. Where is the integrity in that?

It's kind of nice to work for a place that has some growth and where
the crew members are not flinging poop at one another. However, I am

I did fly a kite on the beach a few days ago. 23 MPH max rated. It was at least 35 that day. Busted the cross bar plastic thing and sailed into the ocean. Thank you for your concern. No one else felt bad for me. I appreciate it.

Where's the integrity in going through binding arbitration and then after-the-fact saying it isn't really binding? You see, whether you or I think the Nicolau list is fair is completely irrelevant. The process was agreed to and one side had reneged. Do yourself a favor and quit rationalizing. The law is against the East for a reason.

DOH is a staple job? How does that work? US Air certainly hired most of its current pilots after the birth of America West Airlines, so where do you come up with this?

Guaranteed you'd fight an arbitration as inane as what MLB-banned Nicolau spewed on us. I've wondered often if Management might have paid him for his "award", since it certainly has saved them money and created in-fighting, which they love.
