AV80R, you weren't hired here in '98..... Don Channel wasn't the CP then. You were out making 'training' videos in '98... it seems to me that you were a mid '99 hire. Is all this exaggerating what gets you hired somewhere every year??? hehehehehehehe

Hmm, thought my id had ‘98 hire-date on it? I’m on a trip and can’t double check it right now; heck I don’t know maybe it was 99? I’m sure you know better, you seem to keep track of others pretty well. I wasn't trying to account for my career progression in a chronological order; rather I wanted to say that in my view complaining and hoping for growth is pointless. That's all

Hey, AV80R made it to UPS, and that's good enough for me. Who cares when he was hired at Corporate Airlines / RegionsAir. I saw Don about 6 months ago. Looks like he will upgrade soon. He's a character! Happy hollidays, all you whiners!!!!! Remember, only two votes count for the contract and I'm one of them.

"There'll be saabs for Christmas, just you wait and see...
there'll be saabs for Christ-mas if on-ly in my dreams"

hehehehehe

You have too muh time off I think.............

23 pages of complaining and no one is doing anything about it?

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!!!

“Remember, only two votes count for the contract and I'm one of them.”

Taildrager – is there really a new contract on the way? I didn’t even know they were negotiating? This is probably a joke and as always I totally missed it, right? ;)

“23 pages of complaining and no one is doing anything about it?”

I actually don’t think Region guys complain more than any other pilots; they’re just unhappy because their QoL stinks and on top of that the future at Regions seems to be kind of in a limbo right now? Frustrating to say the least. The good thing is – they all got very solid flying experience and I believe most former Corpexers always try to push for current Rejexers no matter what airline they end up at.

Wishing a very Merry Christmas and a much Happier New Year (and happy Hanukah and Kwanza…) to everyone at Regions!

Luv, HomeY :)

Of course, wishing the very same to all former Corpex guys too!

Just curious, buttt... What CAN we do about it?

The company is broke..
The company is broke..
The.. company.. is.. broke..

If we are not bought out, we are gone..

We are operating 5 of 12 J32's...
We are going to be losing 2 of those in the end of January for engine overhauls..
We will then be operating 3 of 12 aircraft..

What can we do about it? I don't have $150K to drop on an engine.. You gonna start the goodwill drive? :)

Stick a Fork in 'em...

“Remember, only two votes count for the contract and I'm one of them.”
Does a contract really mean anything if the Saabs are gone in January and the Jetstreams soon behind by summers end? Regions seriously screwed themselves with the DOT thanks to the bungling incompetence of our illustrious management team (Headed up by D.C.)
What are we to make of this contract offer the supposed Buyers/Investors wanted us to sign? Overall paycuts (On already sub-sub-standard pay) for growth? This sounds like one of J.O.'s brilliant business plans; you don't need to bring any management skill to the table, just float the company on the backs of the underpaid employees. If you hang around long enough to pull back the curtain and meet the wizzard, I'm sure you'll find none other than D.C. in the booth. It's all horsesh!t, there is no buyer and they're only trying to buy a little more time.

You’re 100% correct – there’s nothing you can do except to hang on and try get some pic time. In the meantime “be ready” just in case. I know most guys (and gals) already attend AirInc seminars (next one is in January 27th in Dallas)

http://www.jet-jobs.com/guestframe.html

I also think that Women-in-Aviation (guys ARE welcomed too!) and Black Airline Pilot Association (ALL races ARE welcomed!) do a great job.

The next WAI (www.wai.org) conference is Feb 15-17 in Orlando, the next OBAP (www.obap.org) conference is in August 13-18 in Houston.

I include some info at the bottom of this post but basically EVERY airline that’s hiring will be there and you’ll have more than the standard 3-5 AirInc. minutes to introduce yourself to the recruiters. Please go, this might be the break y’all looking for, I know it helped me!

Corpex guys & gals are great aviators – all y’all need is a little more exposure and your careers will soar!

Ps. I do not get any kickbacks from the two organizations; I just truly believe they’re doing a heck of a job.

A few years ago when I started raising Cain on these threads no one ever said hehehehehehe. Well, I guess I'm not worthless, I can always set a bad example...hehehehe!

Pig Pilot, I hope yours was a very Merry Christmas. Lots of pig time going to MYR and ALO we had! I have been told I am lucky to never have seen my PHX base bro...though I still wish I had.

For those of you still trapped in a jball or Saab under hopelessly lost leadership I offer you too my best wishes. I also offer hope for the future-alas, being junior on my seniority list I am not home. I did however, have the pleasure of a Christmas supper with a friend from corpex-we found ourselves in the same place at the same time many, many miles from our respective homes. Friends and family are important and you will never get to work with people that are any better than there. You may get bigger, faster planes that carry you farther afield but there is no better camaraderie than to be had at corpex.

You are the last of the few, those left wanting...left wanting perhaps, but not left for dead...

I come as a messenger from your futures (if you will allow me that analogy, the somewhat inebreated Ghost of Christmas Future) to tell you that it is out there...strive not for where you are, but for where you are going!

To be honest it is only that common spirt-shared by so many of us, the one that says "keep going, better is over the horizon" amongst us, the crews and former crews of crapex that has kept the place from failing sooner. Ours is the glory that it has lived as long (er, perhaps shame?) as it has. Management will inevitably say "we tried"...the lamest of the lame excuses.

We did.

You will.

Go get it.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. You, of all deserve it!

Belchfire

I love my uniform!!

Aside from the first Saab FO class, have any other classes gone through Flight Safety yet or are they sweeping the floors of the hangar? On the bright side, you don't have to wear your uniform while sweeping the floors...at least not the hat anyway.

I have to wear my uniform when cleaning the hangar, you should consider yourself lucky!!

What can I say? When you've finally attained the status of Regional Airline pilot, you've more than paid your dues. While the public tends to only notice the good looking aviator sunglasses and the nice slacks...it's the hard work, dedication, and adequate attention to personal hygiene that sets us apart from other pilots. That is why we are bringing the "Wearing the Uniform while Cleaning the Hangar" issue to the table at the next union meeting. In taking these baby steps our union can deliver us to the promised land, according to their pamphlet.

There is hope!!!

Is that true my man??? Congrats bro, You're Buying!!!

hehehe...that's two people I know there...hehehe...

You see, there is fracking hope!!!

Of course the guy that is on the History Channel is saying that we're going to eventually get by an astoroid and become extinct because the worldwide air temperture hitting 1200 F...

Now that's global warming!

Homey;

Sheesh, I was just jazzing you........... don't get all defensive! Was the "training video" comment too much?
Sorry.

Well, we're having fun now boys!!

Can anybody cut and paste it? I don't have Windows 95 with PDF capability fully downloaded yet onto my computer.

With the legaleese removed it says that Regions needs to keep flying the routes for 90 days and their letter of intent to cease service on Dec 31 is illegal and they will keep getting paid for flights completed. They have to continue the service for 90 days or unless sooner replaced. They will get paid for it.

The DOT is treating the letter of intent to cease service as a 90 day notice.

You have untill march.

Unless the braintrust in mqy defaults-in which case I would expect an immediate investigation and I won't speculate on how far it will go but it could include certificate action.

Now, the DOT takes into consideration a companies entire record when considering bids. Due to the dismal operational reliability they put forth (which was entirely avoidable had the operation been planned to succeed in the first place) they have jepordized what is left of the STL system-which of its self is not doing so well.

Which is to say that the mqy mafia has really stepped on their crank this time!

Sheesh, I was just jazzing you...........

Don’t worry, it’s all good… ;)

Well, we're having fun now boys!!

I heard from a Gemini captain the other day they are still hiring. Guys - look into it; you might enjoy the DC10 or the MD11 flying. If you decide to stay there - great, I heard from an FO that he enjoyed the international flying there a whole lot.

Additionally, the heavy international experience will open up some other doors for sure. Recently, Gemini, Omni, Polar, etc. pilots have been getting interviews at UPS and Fedex left and right. At UPS many of those guys/gals had no prior recommendations; the heavy experience alone was enough to get them an interview.

Also, I spoke to one of the UPS dispatch instructors who told me about a former Chautauqua dispatcher they recently hired. Apparently, the guy had spent 6 months or so at Gemini which gave him a little “international flying exposure” and that’s all he needed to move on; just something to consider for some dispatchers at 3C if they happen to be interested?

I truly hope it works out for all Corpex guys & gals.

Gemini eh? Maybe I'll check them out..
