The exclusion of furloughed pilots from the union board was a reprehensible decision that pre-dates my membership in this dysfunctional little family. I believe the bulk of the pilot group agrees that you should have had full access.

It's just another legacy of a union leadership whose arrogance and tone-deafness to the membership set the stage for three years of chaos.

I was curious if anyone is returning back to Netjets from their legacy or Major/LCC? Not too long ago, some guys were saying that Netjets was a better career option. I don't know any Netjets pilots so excuse my lack of personal knowledge.

HA! Leave a legacy to come back to NJA!?! I would say a VERY large percentage of Captains at NJA have their apps out at those same company's. And that % is much higher in the FO ranks.

Yes times change, I am sure this is part of the EMT's plan. But if the call comes from the right company, the EMT wins, and a huge % of the NJA group is leaving.

In the mean time the beatings continue.....

Now, now. Yip is only a pilot, and he has made it clear that you do not need a college education to fly an airplane. You can look stupid all day long, but as long as you get from point A to point B you would make a stellar pilot applicant.

YIP has only wanted to be a pilot since he was five years old and probably would be a retired DAL Captain right now if I had skipped getting that pesky college degree thing. I flew with those non-degreed Nav Cad's in Vietnam they were far from anything stupid. They all got out a couple years before I could and went straight into the DAL pipeline.

BTW We all know the separation from stupid and a college degree is very hard to tell in many people.

He also hasn't quite wrapped his head around the fact that companies mandate the hiring criteria ( not the applicant), and to be a player one has to meet those criteria.

That is already changing, many airlines have changed their requirements to college degree -"preferred", and as this shortage of experience continues to grow, we will see many more Non hired. Besides almost everyone has degree now days, so statistically almost everyone hired will have degree.

I was talking about the 60's when college degree didn't mean that much if you were a military trained pilot.

The degree has nothing to do with intelligence, ability fly or the ability to be an asehole in the cockpit.

NJ hires without a degree if you are a really good guy and a great stick, how do I know, I helped get them on at NJ over the last 16 years

I know congrats, but it has nothing to do with flying an airplane see above. It is just a screening tool for HR types who have college degrees and want everyone to be like them.

Capitulate and accept concessions, or they'll be forced to cancel all new jet orders and immediately stop recalls. Per the wunderkind JH to NJASAP President yesterday. Apparently he's too busy "negotiating" with India and China, to be bothered by our disgruntled and irrational workforce.

I'm sure G4dude and his peers can't wait to sign up for those "give backs".

Let 'em cancel the orders! I love flying these 14-year-old hangar queens. It makes for a very relaxing tour. :laugh:

I could just be spitballing here but I predict Hansell will cancel the CL-605 order.

He will blame it on the pilots for being "unreasonable" in contract negotiations but the real reason is because the sales force is having a tough time selling it.

Easy decision for him. He gets to pull the plug on a program that is likely to struggle (in oh, so many ways) and score points against the union at the same time.

Wow only 14 years old, I have never flown an airplane build after 1982. Of the course the B-17 was completely rebuilt in 1995, so that might be the newest airplane I had ever flown

How many hours a year does that B-17 fly? DC-9s don't count, btw. If there is ever a nuclear holocaust the few survivors will be able to find shelter in DC-9 fuselages and eat cockroaches since they will be the only things left in tact.

A 14-year-old Douglas or Boeing is a different animal than a Citation, especially when run as hard as an airliner.
