    I bid trips like this!!

You will work less and get paid more...plus, you get to go home when your trip is over, instead of sitting at the airport waiting for a flight to go home. Not to mention the headaches of trying to commute to work...that'll be all gone. Your QOL will improve by 5X.

    Skywest Mins

Hey maybe if I go get myself a RJ type from those RJ training schools it'll get dropped to 500 and 100.

    Pray this doesn't happen

It already has happend, how is this different than Mesa's Developmental Program? I like their current rules, 1,500 total hours.

MESA strikes again- Jet blast injuries at ORD

Well...there goes all single engine operations out of the F alley again...just 2 months after it was approved I'm sure we'll get another memo in a few days saying no single engine taxiing anymore. Bah.

    Pensacola, Mobile?

My friend worked at a charter place in Mobile flying Citations, but he didn't recommend going there. The pay is so ********************ty, it was around $13k - $15k a year. He told me the boss knows that people only use the company for 1 year to build jet time and they leave, so in return he...

    Skywest talking pilot pay raise

If we wanted to be a powerful unified force, ALPA needs to have 1 seniority list for all ALPA carriers. Having different lists at different ALPA carriers is ineffective.

    Skywest talking pilot pay raise

ALPA isn't going to help or hurt the airline, it's all about supply and demand and how management runs the company. As along as there are people willing to work for low wages and bad work rules, why should we get paid more? Until there are not enough pilots to go around or people are not...

    A320 Job Offer

I would not go, the pay is not worth it and it sounds like you're not too excited about it. Not to mention your wife and family doesn't want you to go. Some carriers actually doesn't like it if you have A320 time from another place because you've been trained differently and it'll be a lot...

Is Skywest in the cass system?

    SkyWest pays for uniforms!!

Supply and Demand my friends...Law of basic econ. You can't get people to show up for class, you either lower your mins or give workers more compensation. I'm glad to say we're not lowering our mins.

    SkyWest

sorry about the PDX fact, I have just always heard we're shrinking that base, but I was wrong. I think Jet times help getting the CRJ, or at least some type of 135 time. I was hired into the jet with no jet time or turbine time, but had 135 single pilot time and I told them I wanted ORD as a...

    SkyWest

Most new hires will goto the Brasilia unless you already have jet time. Jr. Brasilia base is Fresno. If you are top seniority in your class, you might be able to get DEN or SLC. Some were able to get SAN, SBA in a few months. PDX is shrinking and unreachable.

what is the best regional airline to work for?

Probably the best regional is the one where you don't have to commute to work for. Where do you live?

    Comair

Comair is a good place to be if you live in CVG or JFK. I started class there last March and then left to come to SkyWest for the simple fact of not having to commute to work. I had no idea that Comair was going to furlough, but I am glad that everyone in my class there got recalled back, or...

    Comair

imacdog, just wondering when you got hired. Was it last year at the beginning of the hiring boom in Feb?

    Thanks Skywest Pilot

This is why I don't commute to work.
