    EDCT Time

I am sometimes confused by what atc means regarding GND Stops, EDCT, Wheels Up Time. 1. Wheels up time is usually a hard time and you can be released +/- 5 minutes of that time 2. When a GND stop is issued, then you do not receive any time correct? 3. How valid is an EDCT time? If they...

    Released from Reserve

Just curious, when you guys call scheduling asking to be released till your next reserve day or days off does the company keep track of it and does it look bad? I would think that if coverage is good and scheduling releases u then it's no biggie.

Maybe he meant Great Lakes Airlines, ohh wait, they only make 13,500 and get a dollar perdiem...now that's sad. And they have to sign a contract.

    Question about ExpressJet

I understand that ExpressJet might be losing 69 aircraft starting in 2007. How many of you think that this will happen and if it does how many pilots will lose their jobs as a result. What other alternatives does ExpressJet have if this does happen? If ExpressJet does not lose these airplanes...

    Solidarity

Because you will always have scabs that are waiting for the opportunity to cross the picket line and advance of their careers at others expense. And you have the alter ego airlines that employ new age scabs who would work with a lower QOF, Pay, and Pride just to fly shiny new jets. Otherwise...

    Flight time limits

Don't worry, when the FAA revises the 135 and other regs, hopefully they will make the duty and flight time regs more realistic than they are now.

    Best laptop computer for pilots?

A very important thing you need to worry about is getting a decent processor and video card. The Pentium M is still a very good processor even though the dual core processors are now available. The big reason why you want a pentium m or the new dual core is that they can produce amazing...

    A depressing question

To me it's pretty pathetic when a school crossing guard can make more money than a pilot with a 4 year college degree. Why???? Deregulation, low cost carriers, oil prices, mesa, entry level pilots prosituting themselves out to fly shiny new jets, blowjets, scabs, and greedy executives.

    go Jet clowns

Just read that a go-jets pilot was hired by UPS. I hope to god that it's not true...edited due to excess testosterone...give it a rest, boys.

    Props High or Low?

If your engine fails, put the blade at a high RPM and try to restart. Then, if the restart was unsuccesful, set the lever to a low rpm pitch setting to decrease drag and get a better glide distance.

    Question on Sectionals

As you can see, the class E drops to 700 around airports. Think about it, if the airport elevation is 0 MSL, and you are flying a TP at 1000 MSL and it's an uncontrolled field (no communication is required) what if someone is on a right downwind for runway 9 and another person is on a left...

    Backround check

Other than your log book, is there a way that a 121 carrier can find out if you worked for a certain 135 operator in the fast. Would FAA records indicate that?
