Selections by RTUs for UPT Ryan pretty much hit the nail on the head. If you get picked up by an RTU, you will go to UPT and RTU and then get farmed out to another operational unit for 500 hours. As far as being a four ship lead, etc, I'm not sure. But I do know that some RTUs will select guys... -

For those in the know.... I noticed that the F-16 has a very simplified autopilot. When is the autopilot used? The only time I could think of is on a long cross-country, but even then, wouldn't it be impossible to use the autopilot in formation? Fill me in. Thanks, Flaco -

Best way I second what Chickenhawk had to say about getting face time with the pilots. If you really want fighters that bad, consider applying for another officer position within the unit first, then going for UPT. I have found that people that are already in the unit have a great advantage... -
