    I hear what you are saying, but remember, their pilot group agreed to all of this in a contract. Who are the bigger idiots: Mesa Management who sees this as a great deal for them, or the senior Mesa ALPA pilots who let this happen to more junior pilots? There is a deeper issue at play here.

    Exactly right. The planes have become smarter, and smarter; allowing for pilots to become dumber and dumber. As long as RJ's aren't falling out of the sky at an unacceptable rate, the FAA won't mind a bit if an SJS uber-pilot sits in the right seat.

    I have shown them so many airplanes that I am nauseated. I finally said, "OK, you pick one....just pick one." They chose the BJ....that'll show me. Oh well, we'll have it for about two years, then they'll be tired of it and on to the next airplane.

    Suicide? That's a bit dramatic, don't you think. Experience isn't always helpful, remember your CRM classes? Get some new blood in the mix, and perhaps some of the old ALPA/managment grudges might ease a bit. IMHO. Either way, the ASA pilot deserve a good contract.

    If nothing else, the current MEC just hasn't achieved results. This alone is reason to replace them. It's nothing personal, but a change at the helm might be healthy for everyone.
