    Just passed on NetJets class

When I got out of the Army in 2000 I contemplated going to Florida to fly in the Caribbean for a couple of years just for the fun of it. I decided then that getting on at NJA (then EJA) earlier than later was a better decision. While I'm sure I missed a good time in the islands, I definately...

    Do the FO owners know??

Do the Options owners know what is going on at FO? Do they know that pilots are being pressured to fly aircraft? If not, they will know eventually. And I don't think that they'll be happy to know that their pilots are worried about losing their jobs if they don't fly.

    Any theories about FlightOptions future?

How can you fire 70 people for "productivity" reasons when the variables of the operation are numerous?? Can FO back up it's statistics with data showing that all 70 pilots had an equal chance to be prouctive? What steps did the company take to ensure equitable scheduling across the board? Were...

Captains.. what do you do with your atlantic bucks?

I give 50% and the extra to my FOs. ANY Captains who are hogging all the points and bucks should be outed!!! They obviously have no qualms about etiquette or screwing a fellow pilot. The only way to stop their BS is to instill fear of an "outing." Also, if you're at NJA, call the...

    LCC or NJA?

Um .. hmm.. let me help you!! A few months ago I flew with a former USAir Captain. He had been there for 18 years and was in his early 40s (he got on young). After the merger with AWA and the list merger fiasco, he bailed on USAir and came to NJA. He had been a Captain on a Bus and then...

Don't Pilots and Unions ever learn???

Touche.. it was a brain fart typo.. However, it still remains... DAL and NWA.... I would love to see the merger done so that neither pilot group screws itself or the other group. Hoewever, it doesn't look like that will happen. The same question remains.. ps.. I don't have a dog in this...

Don't Pilots and Unions ever learn???

It's baffling to me that after the screw job that USAirways pilots got and the fiasco merger of the American Airlines and TWA pilots groups that the pilots and unions of UAL and NWA can't reach an amicable decision about seniority merger issues. Didn't anyone learn anything after what...

    Gulfstream Announcement

By the time this thing launches, NJA and NJI will all be the same seniority list. There are lots of incentives, worth multi millions for RTS to allow this to happen. It's gonna be a done deal. Now, whether or not the work rules are the same is another matter. But the pilots will all be...

    set a record..

AV8TOR will never change his mind. He thinks he knows more than he does. His sole knowledge of the military comes from the brave service of his grandfathers. Unfortunately he gains from their sacrifice but none of his own. He doesn't understand that those who have been there and done that will...

    Pay for ATP for Netjets?

I'm not on the hiring committee but this job is highly desirable and the competition is fierce. I can't imagine that they would hire or even consider someone without an ATP. THe cost to get an ATP is small and it only takes a few days.

    NJ Citation X vs. Excel

I have flown both the X and the XL/S at NJA (and U boat). I actually left the X for the XL and have no regrets. Two of my friends here did the exact same thing and both are happy that they left the X and are now in the XL. The Soveriegn is absolutely the most busy fleet here. Stay away...

    GIV rates

Is there a demand currently for GIV pilots?

    GIV rates

What is the average daily rate paid to a GIV contract pilot? What are normally the time requirements in type in order to be hired for most jobs? Thanks for the input.

    NetJets

Rumor is that the new crew lounge will actually have AT LEAST 2 tvs, 10 lounge chairs and 1 couch. Also, there will be a snooze room with the remnants of a Citation cockpit seat. AND the BIG NEWS... maybe a popcorn machine.. boy, life will be good then.

Yawn!! Thought this was going to be BIG!!

    NetJets

There is a "hangar meeting" today at 1430 in CMH for all to see. We're expecting the announcement then.

    NetJets

I agree. I actually hope we do move to RDU. But that, by itself, would not secure our future or be a HUGE, big deal. An SSBJ doesn't secure our future, only makes it more interesting. RTS becoming Buffet II doesn't secure our future. I'm voting for the Jet Aviation acquisition. Now THAT is...

    XL/XLS fleet at NJA

I've flown in the Ultra, X and now XL/XLS fleet. The XL fleet is far better than the X fleet. I think that the Ultra fleet has slowed down some but not the X fleet. I'm a Boston based XL fleet and am not overworked. Sometimes we have long days but overall, I'd say legs is the norm. I feel...

    Just Shredded The Union Card

Well, I just know that 1108 has been TERRIBLE for the pilots at NJA and for the company!! I mean, the pilots have to suffer with industry leading pay, specified work rules, full insurance, over 100 bases, great representation, a good LMRP, and more. And the POOR company!! I don't know what...

NJA new TA... What will you really make?

Now that the IBB has passed... as an 8 year Cpt, with IOE pay, I will work 4 months on the 18 day schedule (my choice), and the rest on the 7 and 7 schedule. My BASE pay will be about $128,000. My extended day/vacation day pay is $916.00. With per diem and extras, I figure that I'll easily...
