Found this interesting tidbit in an interview done with Scott Crossfield in March of 2001.

With P-51s and L-39s and Lancair 4s to pick from, there must be something special about your 1961 Cessna 210A.
Well, it's mine and it's paid for. It...
Have you looked into buying out someones position who already has one on order, and is looking to get out of it?
We had a guy at the airport I'm based at do that a couple months ago. Should have his airplane by the end of the year. Have no idea how much he paid, but it might be worth a looky.
Also, one area that the majority of CFI applicants are weak on is understanding and explaining endorsements. Examiners like to throw you different situations you might find yourself in as an instructor, and you need to tell and explain what endorsements a student might need.
Same with...
For you too lazy to open up your dusty FAR, 61.31(g) states:
(g) Additional training required for operating pressurized aircraft capable of operating at high altitudes.
(1) Except as provided in paragraph (g)(3) of this section, no person may act as pilot in command of a pressurized aircraft...
I just woke up, so forgive me if this is wrong, but I thought any ATP that had their High Altitude Endorosement could sign you off? For instance, the Chief Pilot covers the appropriate ground material, then takes you up to altitude and performs an emergency descent?
Would I HAVE to go to a...
Charter or A-Squared, using the link that Charter provided, do you think it'd be a "Freedom of Information Request" or "Request For Information Product"?

Uh huh, I better jump in here and clarify before this gets out of hand :D... it was my aunt who was killed in the crash, and it was HER boyfriend who was flying the airplane. Thankfully, they had just dropped off her 6 year old son at his grandparents, and they were returning back home when the...
I lost a family member in a plane crash in 1981 (boyfriend pilot flew into a thunderstorm) and I was wondering if there was anyway I could obtain a full accident report from the NTSB.
I pulled up the accident report through the NTSB database, but it was back when they gave very vague...
They'll never know one way or the other. ;)
So I guess whatever you think constitutes a hold works, just make sure you have the correct book answer for them when asked!
My personal opinion is that entering a hold, and intercepting inbound, would constitute holding for reasons of currency. If...
Hey I just thought of this, wouldn't flying a hold satisfy both the holding requirements, and intercepting and tracking requirements? You do have to intercept the inbound course in a hold.
Same situation could be said for flying an approach that you weren't verctored on.
Not that any of us...
...mel knowledge
know who can perform 100 hr, annual inspections
show the aircraft and engines airworthy (mainly just last annual and 100 hr)
** good idea to bring operating hanbook (official copy inside the aircraft) with you, as he referenced and made us look up some info in there a...
I live in Oklahoma and I always use 123.45 as a air-to-air chat when I'm flying cross country with another airplane. Even if I'm by myself it's always entertaining to listen to the 80 year old pilots screaming into the frequency "BILL... YOU ON HERE??" "BILL, WHERE ARE YOU NOW... I JUST PASSED...
I wouldn't sweat it. You got out of the situation, and hopefully you learned a good lesson on how to (and not to) handle the situation in the future.
I made a bounced landing on my first solo (second landing!). I was doing touch n go's on a 4,000 ft runway, and when I came in I hit the nose...
