when the NTSB releases the investigation results I am going to relink that thread to my original post. You will all see that I am 100% accurate.
Have a nice day! And believe what you want, I KNOW the truth and having nothing to lose by "leaking" it.
As someone of a friend who works for the NTSB this is what REALLY happened.....
autopilot was engages, one of the wing's de-icing system was working, the other did not work (due to a mechanical failure that is still under investigation at this moment....). The crew lost control of the aircraft...
Exactly my point Avbug...Real world examples! You can survive water landings with the wings level, at a proper approach speed. The real threat is surviving afterwards..but with a life vest you can do it..of course if there are sharks or gators/crocs in the water then you may not survive, all...
Yes, in seaplanes!
I would ditch my plane in the water along the coastline in the following picture, instead of trying to find something over this populated area for example:

I disagree!
I think the guys getting killed during engine failures are attempting to land in places that they have no business landing in in the first place.....For example, you are over a densely populated area and experience an engine failure. You spot a small field and attempt to land on it...
I am beginning to think....As long as you land at the right speed and angle water crash landings seem survivable! Not a bad idea if you lose an engine on takeoff or at altitude...ditch in a river or as close to the shoreline as possible......

Go buy yourself a decent condo in the Dutchess County area of New York and commute down to work in the city to fly out of whatever NYC Airport you are based out of. Contribute whatever savings to a 401K or Roth IRA
Thanks for the reply.
Fly Safe is right! Especially when I will be renting 172s flown by student pilots who have bounced, revved, and yanked the cr*p out of those airplanes.
haha, we've all been there at one point in time.
Hello,
I am an airline pilot who has recently had the desire to get back into GA flying. I live n a wonderful area of the country that offers GA pilots with many great scenic destinations.
Assuming a 172 costs $90/hr (wet rate) to rent and I want to fly around 10-12 hours per month...
Will you have time to flight train and pursue a non-aviation related degree at the same time so that by the time you are 22-23 you will have a Bachelors and all your ratings through MEI completed?
If that is the case then definitely go with a non-aviation degree.
I went to a community...
********UPDATE********
Reliant Aircraft Charter Hangar and some of its airplanes have burned to the ground on the night of September 12th, 2007!

FlightInfo is a great site and my personal favorite, however I am wondering if there are any other aviation sites on the web dedicated exclusively to GA Pilots.
I am once again flying GA and wanted to join such a forum to discuss fly-in destinations, aircraft performance, GA aircraft reviews...
Hello,
I was talking to a Jet Broker yesterday at HPN who drove off in a Porsche 911 Twin Turbo shortly after we finished a conversation.
Are all these guys making six figures or is it one of those career paths where a lot never make it and only a few excel at it?
I am just curious as it...
There was a movie about this back in the 90s...it featured a young 747 Captain who had a wife and a child and when on the road in different cities had a mistress in each city he went. I forget the name of it.
Work for the Ohio State Patrol as a pilot/law enforcer! Excellent benefits, good salary, good retirement option, etc. In addition, you will make enough to rent an aircraft if you want to continue flying as a hobby.
Thanks for the replies. I just wanted everyones opinion.
I enjoy taking ski trips in a rented 172 to flyin airports in the winter in Vermont and Maine. I also enjoy heading out to Cape Cod, Block Island, Newport RI, Marthas Vineyard, etc. in the summer months (of course with a life vest...
