SWA crew names released

I think Dicko got your goat MJ. There is an AT instructor who's favorite thing to do is fail an engine at the beginning of the TO roll at max power (short runway like SNA). The point of the exercise is to demonstrate that rudder only inputs will get you into the grass faster than you think it will. Obviously at some point/airspeed tiller inputs are too sensitive. Your tangents made for good reading though!

Please Ty, put me back on your ignore list...

OBTW just read on the prune that SWA FOs can now shoot approaches down to 1800-1/2, some good coming out of the SWA/AAI group think, maybe the SNA restriction will also be lifted...

Do you mean that prior to this time, a SWA FO wasn't permitted to fly a CAT 1 ILS to minima ?

Rumor has it there was a MAJOR Catfight in the "cock"pit prior to landing- any confirmation? Too much progesterone. Why else would there be a transfer of controls at 500 agl ?

TWA FOs were qualified and normally flew the Cat 3 ILS approaches.

Next thing you know they'll be allowed to start engines.

The decision to let FOs start the engines at SWA has been a major disappointment to me - I was looking forward to some quality window licking as the Captain busied himself with this complex procedure.

Bummed.
