Their job they f^cking got when age 60 pilots retired before them -
You aren't special-You haven't accomplished one thing a 30-50yo pilot hasn't as well. + you had way less barriers to entry to a major than this generation has had bc your generation also saw fit to outsource half the domestic legacy flights- so please- spare us your outrage over 65- the profession will be better off when it's not in the boomer's greed oriented hands

Let's eliminate age discrimination, but to be fair let's also change the paradigm of airline seniority...with the advancements in communication, aircraft design and crew coordination, the role of airline captain as the primary decision maker has diminished. So has the justification for the two tier pay scale (FO vs CP). One pay scale based on longevity (per aircraft type) would make mergers painless and not financially impact 1/2 the seniority group...

Age discrimination starts in the Constitution. There is a minimum age to be President of the United States. (I think it is 33 or 35). There are mandatory retirement ages for cops and firemen. Do you want a 66 year old firman carrying you down a burning staircase?

Btw, Canada has recently passed a law letting pilots fly past 65, but they can only fly as a narrowbody FO, or widebody cruise officer.(SO) I hope it doesn't go that way, but if it does, at least it allows upgrades to continue as those guys get to do walk arounds again. But, that wouldn't help with new hiring.

Sorry but this is the dumbest thing I have heard in a while. Why don't we just have an airliner going through the air were all decisions are done by proxy. Someone has to be in charge. Someone has to make the final desicion. That person is the captain and that person will always make more. With your system why don't we let the nurses in the O.R. decide procedure. Or let the surgical resident make the final call. NO thanks.
