Would this be the same improvement seen at UAL, NWA, AT, ATA, Braniff, EAL?
so is there an association between ALPA and airline survival or not? BTW You do not need to be a college graduate to be a ALPA member, because it has nothing to do with membershipGee that's brilliant. Maybe you do NEED a college education to fly airplanes. I'm sure those terrorists on 9/11 were ALPA members too....not. I'm sure ALPA is why so many airlines filed bankruptcy too.

WOW a voice of reality in sea of lets not look at reality.Don't blast him, Pilotyip has a valid point........why, when anyone tries to challenge the point of anyone on the OC, they start to immediately sling mud.........
What say the naysayers? I am on the OC and would like to know why some of you are still against representation? How are things going to improve under the current "system?"
I will never vote ALPA. Never ever ever. Sling all the mud you want.

Why alpo? If they were smart, they would at least try to get SWAPA on property!! Is that possible?

The best union is the "threat" of unionizing.

Agreed, if all you're after are short term financial gains. Longer term issues like retirement, benefits, scope, M&A are only solved with a CBA. And management has conclusively demonstrated that they're not interested in a collaborative relationship with any bargaining unit.
For that matter, they're not interested in true collaboration *without* a bargaining unit. They only want to appear to fix issues, not take action. Not that they can actually fix the above mentioned items without a CBA. By and large, the law won't let them.
There's no point in demonizing management for what they can't do, only for promising that they could do them, and then running out the clock for years. We need to drop this delaying tactic and get some basic protections in place RFN. Hopefully, it's not too late.
Wait and see how ALPA does with the CAL/UAL merger and subsequent contract and list integration. I'm personally volunteering what time I have to help the effort.
I think this is a do or die moment for ALPA. See what the results are and make a choice based on the best information available to you.

Best of luck to all of you....may you all ony be a little pissed off after the integration!
That's your right. The rest of us will vote for you. Loving the new FSM yet? How about that great new BUF hotel?
Vote ALPA and we'll have a better BUF layover hotel? Is that really your sales pitch?
why not ALPA?
Would you vote for non ALPA representation?

Yes. Just not ALPA.
And ALPA has teeth? Yes...let's go talk to those airtran guys and see what leaps and bounds they have made in their efforts to negotiate a contract since ALPA came on property. Sometimes a Union is necessary...but to go with ALPA based on their fear-mongering and patriotic analogies? Remember: ALPA's purpose is to Schedule with safety. It has nothing to do with Pay...benefits...hotels, or most anything else that affects QOL. SWA didn't start out with the highest pay-rates in the industry, how did they manage that without ALPA?So you voted for JBPA then? An in-house would be a toothless tiger with money. Talk to the Air Tran guys. I'm not in love with ALPA but it's the only way to go IMHO. That said if you want an in-house, now is your chance to start one.
