Hey Spinup,
Yes you are the problem right now!
I asked you NOT to email me back on FI and to email your IT Dept, ALPA MEC or who ever but not back to me.
Nope before I was not blaming you....but now since you do know whats going on and that I/we did ask and informed you now to fix the problem then YUP you are the problem.
Like I said before and I will talk reaaaaaaaal slowwwwww so you can get iiiiiiiiitttttt.
We have ahd the problem for 1.5 years. STOP
We have tried through the JS MEC to have them fix it. STOP
They have done nothing. STOP
Thought that (maybe this is where we(you,me, all of us line pilots) got it all wrong) was that your JS MEC was at least putting out a newsletter to all of the ALPO folks infoming them on whats new in the News? STOP
It looks like they were not letting you know for the last 1.5 years. STOP
So lets inform the UAL ALPO Pilots that there has been an ongoing problem for 1.5 years. STOP
Thus the letter last week. STOP
Sorry for the Cliff notes but DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM SAYING HERE???

Not asking to "plead" buddy just an email.

God 100 737's are going away and you want a pissing contest?????

You sound like a young punk. STOP

You a prime example of why professional pilots should have at least minimal education. STOP

The letter was a REALLY, REALLY bad idea. STOP

I would have helped had I been informed of the problem. STOP

Now I am just mad and won't be bullied by said punks. STOP

Ulimately, this will harm the express carriers far more than us. Not just in the jumpseat arena, but overall. We want our flying back. This just kicks people to to what needs to be done to get it.

Right or wrong, I'm telling you how it is in the crew room now. You make a bad call, now deal with the results.

Ulimately, this will harm the express carriers far more than us. Not just in the jumpseat arena, but overall. We want our flying back. This just kicks people to to what needs to be done to get it.

I agree that kid is a disrespectful punk, and is doing more harm than good to his cause.

BUT, might I remind you that you and your predecessors SOLD those jobs and SPENT the proceeds? If you want to buy those jobs back, you have my support, but I doubt you can afford them.

While giving a pre departure brief to me at the start of a trip years ago, a wise Captain told me, "It's not who's right, it's what's right."

Now I believe this guy was saying that if a problem comes up, let's fix it, not waste time letting egos get in the way or pointing fingers.

So fix the F-ing problem. Nobody cares if your feelings were hurt because nobody said "pretty please". Somebody knew this was a problem. It might not have been you but SOMEBODY did.

You think that if the roles were reversed and it was you who got bumped off of your own metal that YOU wouldn't want some quick resolution?

Get off of the ego trip fellas. This isn't a mainline/express problem. It's a problem.

It's not WHO'S right, it's WHAT's right.

Oh, and thanks for reinforcing the notion that leaving the airlines was the best career move I ever made. Honestly, do you think such arrogance and hubris will do you well when you're looking for a new job next year?

This is the message you sent your MEC about his jumpseat grab right?

Nobody did any jumpseat grab.

No one even knew there was a problem, at least at my level.

Now, I'm being told I may not get to work because of issues beyond my control, in which I didn't and still don't have a say. I don't care, we have a prudent pilot policy and this industry stinks now anyway.

Normally, I would have gladly sent the MEC a message in support of the issue had it been brought to my attention. Instead, we've been threatened by fellow pilots. What the heck did you think the reaction was going to be?

Maybe, maybe not. I doubt we will get it back, but we will sure as heck try.
Just to clarify though. We (as in the membership) were never given the opportunity to vote on giving or keeping the 70 jseat jets. That came about through a secret side-letter negotiated by our then MEC chair. One of his many mistakes. And our mistake for voting him in. But, the membership was adamantly against giving away the 70 seaters at the time.

What the heck did you think the reaction was going to be?
The reaction should go something like this,

"Great, my MEC tried to get me super priority on the UAX jumpseat and messed it up! It worked for TSA and GOJets but now the other UAX pilots are mad because I'm higher on the list than their own pilots on their own aircraft when I jumpseat! AND those UAX carriers have been getting the runaround from my company and my MEC for over a year now with some mumbo jumbo about no money to change the computer to fix it. Seems like there was enough money and motivation to get this "change" to the screwed up situation were in now.

I didn't know my MEC was trying to get super priority on the UAX carriers and would definatily support their claim that the computer needs to be fixed.

It sucks they finally had to resort to threats to get this resolved but being a union member I can understand how it takes a strong message to get the point accross. It sure worked for us in the summer of 2000."

Or some variation of this.

It sure worked for us in the summer of 2000."
Beat me to it.....................

Just thinking out loud here, but wouldn't it have been prudent for a professional group such as the UAL MEC to have put out a simple, short letter stating that the BP11 issue is screwed up and make sure that our agreement is to be honored when OMC on another carrier? Quick and easy................honorable and professional.
