I had my first condition inspection done at a recommended CubCrafters service center, it was owner assisted, I was very disappointed in what was done. It was educational but it was tremendously disorganized and lacking. As I have my repairman certificate, I've been doing my own since and they get more thorough as I learn more. I take my time, it takes a week or more, I try to be as thorough as I can. But I don't know what I don't know. I do at times bring in an A&P such as to do a borescope and compression tests and other inspections to follow mine and verify my findings, if any.
I'm curious what others typically find or have found on condition inspections. What are the areas those that are experienced at this think many overlook or don't do well enough? If you've found squawks during your condition inspection(s), what are things you've found? Has anything caught you offer guard or surprised you?
I'd love to learn from others on anything they care to share as to how they go about their inspections, things they may do others don't, lessons learned.
