The point... like the Frac guys... (especially NJA) this FX pilot has one of the best gigs going in aviation.... while many many more pilots have much more to complain about.... REAL issues.... (I know, I know... if I would just apply to Derinda then I can complain too!)

IOW if you are whining about the middle/window seat or hauling luggage up to an purple MD-11.... life is pretty good!

One thing to remember Res is that most of us on the list here at NJA have ties to 121.

I, for one, made a conscious decision NOT to return to 121 flying, in part, due to the fact that the business model is/was really, really broken.

Out of 5 job offers, I considered 2 (both frax).

NJA was FAAAAR from a dream job in 2002. It had potential though and I was willing to give it a shot.

It wasn't long ago that I made $27,108 a year here and a Captain made about $38K and change. It took alot of "effort" on both sides to get us where we are today.

The constant "bitching" about crew meals and hotel locations and middle seats IS about perspective. It took a while to get us where we are and no one wants to revert back to the way it was, nor could it without seriously impacting the product delivery here.

Think of the bitching as a sign that we, as pilots, care. The care enough to bitch, nothing more... certainly nothing less.

Airline management reminds me of trying to talk to a mentally challenged child with a shotgun.

what don't you get, Rez? The Airlines suck and are not a pleasant experience to go through. Plain enough? Every job has it's ups and downs, these guys are just b!tching about the downs

I volunteered in my first-grade daughter's classroom this year so May was a busy time with lots of end of school activities, parties, etc.

NJASAP projects are a big focus at our house right now. We've decided that this summer will be a good time to go visit CMH and have a tour since my husband has NJASAP work to do there and the kids and I can join him. Any suggestions of family fun in the area will be appreciated, guys...:) NJW

Hi, I just got back from about 5 weeks of training in CMH. Easton (about 1 mile north of Bridgeway on I-270) has a lot to offer. Lot's of shops, restaurants, a mall and movie theater etc. Also 1.5 hours to the north in Sandusky, OH is Cedar Point, one of the best amusement parks in the country. Then there is Dayton about an hour to the south, where the Air Force museum is. It is excellent especially for kids and aviation enthusiasts. Also downtown is not bad and has a nice park are. That's about all I know of being a newby and all.

Right on!

My advice: Never fly on a Pt 121 carrier again!

Avoid them. Drive, take Greyhound, walk, unicycle, or don't go.

I recommend all of us lease, rent, or buy (fractional?) a biz jet...and get where we need to go that way.

Easy!

The rest of those sheep? You know, the masses that allow themselves to be treated harshly because they choose their travel experience by price, not service?

Screw 'em.

When you hit the "Reply" button to put me in my place, make sure you copy-in my CEO, and all the CEO's in the industry. They will fix customer service when you show that it's worth a penny-a-ticket to them.

Until it is...sit down, shut up, and keep that bag completely under the seat in front of you!
 
Occam, if your CEOs haven't learned by now (watching their first class customers bail for fractionals) then they will never learn. Airlines losing money while fractionals prosper, someone should be taking notes.
 
I don't know what everybody's complaining about. Airline travel hasn't changed much from how it used to be.
The only major changes are:
No onboard meals, and
TSA security procedures (but we've had security screening for decades).
Other than that, it's not much different, except there are more people travelling.
 
Riiiight, more seats, less legroom, surely FA"s, overcrowded overheads, no more ontime departures or arrivals, long lines at checkin, long times to wait for baggage, cancellations....

Should I continue?
