NO JS to anti-ALPA types

No, I support Captain's authority. The jumpseat belongs to the Captain, and it is his to do with as he pleases. Personally, I feel that denying the jumpseat should be reserved for extreme cases, such as SCABs, HoJet pilots, and yes, vocal RJDC supporters.

In the case of non-union pilots, I'm undecided. I never denied a non-union pilot, but I certainly asked them questions about their support for a union, and if they were sitting in the flight deck, then they would be hearing all about the importance of unions for the entire flight. Although I didn't deny them, I don't really fault anyone who does.

How about pilots who paid an Eastern scab to sit in the cockpit of an airliner, then went to a substandard pay RJ regional, then went to an LCC that pays less than industry standard for 737/717....

You are so blinded by the union koolaid, that you can't even see that your own actions are contributing to this downward spiral.... and you want to deny the jumpseat to those who actually want to fix ALPA.... what a piece of work you are....

Maybe, the J/S er tinkled in the Captain's wheaties. FYI, it pays to be political and practice a little diplomacy every once and a while--especially when one is J/S ing. How bad do you want it--the J/S? Espousing strong positional views only works on Flightinfo. If Jumpseating, in reality, you are placing yourself in a subserviant position and at the mercy of the god like figure in the left seat. Just like a check ride, it's "Yes Sir, No Sir, 3 bags full, Sir!"

The captain asked a question and the JS gave his honest answer.... Do people have to lie when asked a question so that they can get a ride home? How many USAir or United pilots have much good to say about ALPA? How about the former TWA pilots? Should they have to lie just to get home?

Joey....if you showed up to j/s with a RJDC button or badge backer, your jumpseat request would be conditional.... hand over the RJDC "stuff" (you'll get it back after the flight) or don't ride.

A professional would realize that we have different opinions and would use the opportunity to "educate" the person to those different opinions..... A radical despot would use it as a weapon to punish someone who doesn't drink the koolaid....
