This is absurd..... there are many ALPA pilots who have done harm to the profession... should we deny them also? This is a slippery slope....

I don't think much of ALPA.... going to deny me the jumpseat? Think very carefully about your answer.... I give more jumpseats then I ask for......

Wholly $hit!

Are you telling me there will be some questionnaire when I come and ask for a ride? Will it be a questionnaire done by the Wilson polling center? It is only people who dislike ALPA or all unions?

You are part of the problem. Instead of educating people, you used the jumpseat as a political tool. Which makes you a first class a$$...

I have seen it time and time again. What goes around always comes around. I hope you regale us with the tale when it finally comes home to roost.

I hope some day you are on your way to a wedding that you cannot miss... and as luck would have it... the only seat available is the jumpseat... and the "new hire FO" has just upgraded... and he gets to decide if you get a ride or if your sorry butt gets left behind.

Wouldn't that make the "new hire FO" just as guilty as the original poster?

Does anyone want to discuss the "new hire FO's" behavior?

While I think the FO just have had more tact in the matter, you're dear sweet Pookie did ask for his opinion. If the guy would have walked up and started spouting off, then that's one thing, but Pookie said that he ASKED for the opinion.

I recently had a new hire FO from SkyWest who requested my jumpseat to SLC. I asked him about his views on the union drive. His response was that unions are basically useless and that SkyWest was doing better than most regionals without unions. After speaking to him for 15 minutes about how we need to unify all pilot groups as a collective whole, I realized that he did not care.

With that said, I just merely denied him his jumpseat on my plane. I will pick and choose who rides up front and if you dont have the decency to better the profession, I dont want you around my cockpit.

I know that the jumpseat should not be used for political purposes but i am frustrated to these new pilots that only think about themselves.

The jumpseat agreement was provided by ALPA and fought by ALPA. If you dont support that, you are no longer allowed in my plane.

You probably don't commute do you? So you are going to screw with something that does not even effect your life. I hope that FO contacts your jumpseat coordinator. You need a good talking to about how this childish act could hurt your fellow pilots.

this is funny in contrast to the UAL guy I had in mine last week who told my FO and I 'do yourselves a favor and vote NO to ALPA!'

I give guys/gals rides to get to work, home, to weddings, or wherever because it's the decent thing to do.

...and that's the end of it.

Exactly.... many ALPA folks are tired of ALPA.... are we going to get denied?

Either way this jumpseater won.
His answer pissed you off enough to the point where you probably bitch and complained the whole way home, stomped around in your high heals and then posted this on FI.com.

I don't care whether your pro/anti union. You are a tool.

He answered a question honestly..... are we supposed to lie to get on the jumpseat? If asked about my opinion, I will answer it honestly.... does that exempt me from the jumpseat.... be carefull about your answer....

Two things.

1) I believe pookie works at SKW????

2) Any chance he wrote this just to get a rise out of everybody????
