I'm not talking about a violation, I am talking about flying into another airplane, etc. Besides, I don't really buy what you are saying. I don't think it is that way.

Ask a center controller when above FL 180 if he cares whether or not you have the traffic in sight and let us know what he tells you. What you have quoted is geared to VFR below FL180 though it doesn't say so. God that ancient AIM needs revision but the FEDS don't have the time or money.

Professional pilots sound like student pilots when they use "with you" in their initial transmissions to ATC. Here's a clue -- ATC knows you are "with them" by the fact you are talking to them! It's redundant and a waste of radio time....especially the stupid "checking in with you". Try dropping the "with you" crap and sound a bit more professional and like you've flown in other parts of the world. Next time you hear "with you" consider how stupid it sounds....and is. It's just a bad habit.

Also...drop the "Any chance..." when what you really meant to do is request something. i.e. "Comair 123 requesting direct xyz".

I'm with you, man! Any chance I can borrow some hair gel?

"Jakass 244 with you at Flight Level 280" and "Jackass 244 at Flight Level 280" and tell me exactly how much "radio time" was wasted. It's your Levitra that takes too long.

Actually I am. My F/Os laugh at all the stupid stuff I point out that people do and most of them say they never thought of it ..........and that I was right.

Sounds like someone needs a little CRM training...and some professional help. Can anyone say narcissistic? "I am"...a plesure to fly with. "My F/Os..." "...that I point out..." "I was right" Holy crap! 4 times in 2 sentences!!! (Oh, and most regional pilots have not flown around the world, by the way.)

About 10 years ago I was following a Blue Ridge J32 into IAD and when he checked onto tower at Tille he said "full stop". About s##t myself laughing!

Everyone trips over their own tongue on the radio from time to time.
My only pet peeve is when I'm deadheading and every other word from the crew over the PA is "uhhh"!

Well since I just wasted my time reading the last 4 pages of nonsence I will express my opinion "with you".

Come on bro, who cares about how we talk to ATC or the phrases that we use? The important thing is that pilots and controllers understand each other regardless of they way we say it. Examples; I call the altimeter "The meter", Transponder "the flash or the box" ,I also happen to have a hispanic accent so I KNOW I don't sound like a Fighter pilot or an airline captain on the frequency but who really cares, I don't. At the end our message comes across.
A Captain should pay attention to his co-pilot learning and understanding of the aircraft being flown and not to the other pilots communications, it's like listening to some stranger's phone conversation. Maybe spending more time reading the AIM to improve your aviation phraseology and less time in a public forum could prevent unprofessional threads.

The rest of the ATC world starting with Quebec, Canada should be speaking English to all aircraft including their own nationals so the rest of us have better situation awareness. Even that may be a bit nit picky, but nowhere near what you are trying to accomplish. I think you could have made your points, some of which are valid, in a much more pleasant way.
