No response? Because there is no need for any response or arguement. It is a fact that it is a redundant and silly phrase and nothing to debate about. Besides, the mission has been accomplished: I got you guys thinking about it, you'll mention it in passing to your cockpit crewmember when you hear it on the radio, you'll start feeling silly every time you say "with you" and eventually your fellow pilots won't have to hear the useless phrase quite as often.

So Say what you want, there are bigger problems to worry about.

How many of you have hit your head on the ceiling after a controller says "Stand by".

Just reply "unable".

Cool......unable is quicker than doing a traffic search, checking to make sure the altitude requested does not have turbulence, or calling down line to get your request approved.......Thanks, I'll pass this on to the guys.

A simple reward or bet.

A the beginning of a trip, offer the other pilot a free steak dinner if he or she completes the following task.

From the beginning of the trip until at the layover with the steak dinner the pilot must always use the correct word "ZERO", and not "OH" when communicating with ATC. If the pilot uses "OH" one time instead of "ZERO" the pilot does not receive the FREE steak dinner.


It shouldn't cost much.
