Did you have to humiliate the guy making him aware that such position has been filled with a 500 hr CFI, what kind of professionalism is that ?...let's use some courtesy and diplomacy you might be that gentlemen tomorrow looking for a job and you would like to be treated with dignity even if you have to listen to a negative response from a potential employer.
The conversation went something like this, "I am sorry to hear things are not working out at GAC, you know we had to fill that slot last November when you turned us down. Wish you were here. If you are still interested in working for USA Jet I will put your file back into our active pool. We have no hiring plans at this time, due to no turnover, but that can change on short notice if our fleet expansion plans come together. Please stay in touch and lets us know of your availibility. Best of luck"

Becuase we all know that flying freight is below all you pre-madonna's. So when you get furloughed from your job at XYZ airline you come sniffling back to cargo..

Too bad USA Jet flies pax in their DC9's too..

Ditto on that! pilotyip, a simple "no, that position has been filled" would have sufficed. It is unprofessional to rub it in by telling him that you hired a 500 hour guy......completely unnecessary information

Back in 2005, I applied at USA Jet along with every other flying job in the world. At the time, I did not meet any of the minimums, including USA Jet.

Dozens of airlines I applied to, USA Jet is the ONLY airline to send me a personal e-mail explaining that I did not meet the minimums but urged me to re-apply.

I thought it was cool

USA Training

One second thoughts, the more important question to Yip is.. why?

Why in this time with 23000 hour ATA captains looking for jobs are you putting a 500 hour pilot into a jet that requires a good bit of situational awareness and flying skill? Why burden your captains with him? Why take risks with your passengers? What if that CA is incapacitated?

Tell me a lot about your outfit.

Its all in USA Jet's training program. Even if they have 500 hours, a rock solid foundation has been formed to build experience.

ATA or ABX pilots would be miserable at USA Jet anyway.

You notice I used the word filled, in accordance with our policy if we do not have pilots with the hours to bid DC-9 F/O we reserve the right to hire off the street. Since we could not find anyone off the street with 2000TT and 1200 ME we put out a bid in house and offered it to the senior bidder who at that time had 300 hours in the DA-20. He went through training with no problem and scored the highest on the final exam in ground school. Hours do not make the pilot, training does. BTW you will notice in my response to him, I did not tell him whom we filled the slot with. BTW2 When we started our passenger public charter in Puerto Rico last month, the airport and TSA said it was the smoothest start up operation they had ever seen. We do it right
.

go back to the begining

It's "prima donna"

What's up with Gemini?
Looks like they are not paying their bills, see the start of the thread

Hahahahahhahah

Patting yourself on the back due to a compliment from TSA. HAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA

That's like Britany Spears telling me I am a great parent. Maybe you can get some business advice from the United CEO.

Something to proud of

Not everyone does this

Oh, look at that. What are the odds? Another thread hijack by a USA Jet manager reminding us of just how great USA Jet is. Strange that no one feels the need to come on here and mouth off about how great UPS or FedEx is. What COULD the difference be?

Easy trigger, USA Jet has the TSA endorsement!

Crap, you're right. I'm totally getting stripsearched the next time I get TDY'd, aren't I? I take it all back.

In related news, though, my aunt's knitting circle has given an unequivocal endorsement to my company's expanding on-demand presence. We're about to take over the world. Get aboard while you still can, or we'll laugh at you on the internet when you're furloughed!

UPS/FedEX/SWA?

No one is poking at them, they don't have to respond. Funny no lay off's at our place, expanding business, having nearly a post 9-11 record month of flying. So it is politically incorrect to be proud of the company’s accomplishments and the role one played to bring it to this level of performance? If you are rally interested in making your company a better place come over to managemgent and raise the bar.

Did I miss something? Did someone in this thread mention USA Jet prior to you charging in and reminding everyone that the Gemini crews would all have been much better off had they taken on the Industry Leading Pay and Schedule of USA Jet?

No, but it's impossibly irritating that you feel the need to relentlessly yip about how great you think you are on threads that have absolutely nothing to do with your slaveship. You're not seriously trying to suggest that your overgrown 135 car parts shuttle is a "competitor" to Gemini, are you? What does USA Jet have to do with Gemini, other than being another opportunity for you to make your company look desperate, pat yourself on the back, and laugh at the misfortunes of others?

The guy may be furloughed, but at least he doesn't work for you.

Paying bills on time?

But the two that called me want to work for me

Why don't you give us your number so WE CAN ALL CALL YOU and work for you...

You really want it: 734-255-5XXX,

I guess I shouldn't. But for real YIP, we get it, you love your little pet. Quit Hijacking threads to talk about how great your airline? is and how its better than, in this case Gemini. Its getting really old.....

By the way Yip, it was just a joke. I wouldn't give out anyones phone number on a public forum.

The fact that you're doing well probably has a lot to do with the abusive work rules and pay that you have. This gives your airline an unfair advantage over Gemini and other's that have unions that are trying to raise their lot.

Hi Walt.. nice to see you on-line again!
